GreenManGaming seem to be having a winter sale going on right now.

Both Skyrim and Dishonored are currently 50% off for $30, and if you use this voucher (GMG25-G4VDR-0ZL4Q) you get an extra 25% off getting each down to $22.50 (62.5% off the regular $60 price).

Both are Steamworks games, so you'll get a key to activate on Steam. Keep in mind that neither game has yet shown up in a daily deal in the Steam sale, so you may or may not end up getting a better price on them if you wait. IMO, it'd be unlikely for either to get a deeper discount than 50% in a daily deal, Dishonored especially being a very recent game.

I haven't played XCOM yet, but between Sleeping Dogs and Dishonored, it's an easy choice: Dishonored. That said, I'd expect your assessment of XCOM is accurate based on what I've seen and heard, so if you want best bang for the buck, that'd be the way to go.

downloaded and played it this morning while awaiting delivery of AC3. it's pretty fun and has some genuinely funny moments in it. It's pretty short, though. i did everything you can possibly do in it (including hunting down those damn Hell Shrines) and got through it in maybe 3-4 hours.

I'd say that's great value for $5.

the better question is to say you're going to be spending $700-$800. Would you rather get a nice quality gaming PC, or a WiiU and the budget for another 8 (new release, full price) games?

He said he has saved $1400, If he is not planning on a buying a PC to play games in 3D on multiple monitors or sticking with it for the next 4 years, I think he can probably afford both the PC and the WiiU.

Yep. For $1400 you can have both a kickass PC and a WiiU. I don't see how this is an issue at all. Just have to be smart with what you pick.

i5 instead of an i7, and 670 / 660 Ti (or 7950 / 7870 on the AMD side) instead of a 680.

I love it that AMD has a kick ass promo and the Nvidia defense force comes out with their hearsay bullshit with nothing to back it up.

I haven't used AMD in 10 years but they must suck now... CHECK

Comparisons of 5 year old budget cards to current gen $300 cards... CHECK

Driver problems with no examples... CHECK!!!

The guy you responded to wasn't necessarily the worst offender, but yes, pretty much all of this.

i recently tried motioninjoy and while i dont have a bluetooth setup on my pc, i recently have come to a similar awareness with this program namely because of the "must be online" aspect of it. Wow what a jip, got up early one morning and wanted to play skyrim and became unmotivated when i noticed that the website was down for whatever reason, oh look can't load the config tool, gotta play skyrim the vanilla way now. :(

Bummed out about this as well. Wanted to play some Sleeping Dogs just now, but MotionInJoy is currently down.

This has never happened before, and up until today, I never knew I had to be connected to anything for it to work. It just so happened that I never tried it offline. I guess in a way I can understand why this is the way it is (tool is free, they want their ad revenue) but it's still a bummer.

I'm fine with short games as long as they're fairly priced. Last gen's games were anything but, though. I still remember the sting of paying full price for Onimusha only to finish it in two very short sessions (5 hours total).

Liked Far Cry. Loathed Far Cry 2 with every fiber of my being...

Looks like I'm back on-board for this one, though!

It's cheaper on Amazon right now. You can get a Steam key from there for $18.75 using code SQRLUVOC.

Well, there goes my willpower...
