@mercutio123: If you're playing Skyrim for the combat you obviously don't get it.

Add to it (not that combat matters much), that if Skyrim had the combat system of Dark Souls it would have killed immersion, first person combat is still better than a third person avatar where you lock the camera on enemies.

@tennmuerti: Doesn't matter as all combat feels the same. Lock the camera and turn around them and wait to attack, or attack and move back. Who cares if it's hard when it's so goddamn boring!

@bisonhero: I don't know how you can call this game an RPG. It's a hack'n'slash game at best.

I'm sure the title grabbed your attention, so let me explain. I heard all kinds of praise for Dark Souls. I had just come out of playing and replaying Skyrim for a year, and I read that this game "eats its face", and Skyrim being one of the best games I ever played, I thought then Dark Souls should be the holy grail of gaming.

But turns out the whole game is basically "run around and whack the monsters" rinse repeat. Nothing ever breaks up the monotony. The game has no depth, it's just an endless repetitive grind. It doesn't even have a story to give the grind a purpose. Am I missing something? Or do gamers consider a good game one where you repeat the same single task over and over?

When it comes to PSU what you should look at is if it's 80+ gold or silver certified, not the brand.

The last thing you want is flaky power supply causing all forms of lags and stutters.

I had similar issues with a GTX 580, games would feel choppy and "microstutter" even though it's a single GPU and the framerate counter remained 60 fps, as well as some intermittent stutters/freezes, then bought a new AMD card few months ago and no more issues. It turns out it's to do with Nvidia drivers, which is kinda funny since everybody kept telling me that Nvidia had better drivers than AMD, yet in my experience it was the opposite.

This is my experience though, you might not get the same result.

@rockyraccoon37: I read most the reviews now, the thing they all had in common was about how women are portrayed, not really judging the game on its own merits.

As for everything else, the game is ridiculed for things most other games get a pass.

Maybe without the random sex scenes it would have got average score 4 or 5 out of 10.

@sinusoidal: I think that's the reason the critics panned it. From what I've seen up till now you can pretty much fuck every woman you see in the game.

I'm playing it now, and it's actually kinda fun. It's not a great game, but it's not bad either, just average.
