Decided to get VIII, IX and Tactics. Still have about 8 bucks left over so I'll think about getting anything else. Might try to get I-VI on mobile assuming there's no major problems with those versions.

I'm not looking for something similar to XV, I decided to give the series an honest chance after XV (played VII over a decade ago but never finished it) I think the fact that I'm also in a JRPG mood helps a lot too. Not having played many FF titles felt like a huge hole in my gaming life so all of this at once seems like a good time for me to finally dive right into the series, especially with it being the 30th anniversary for the series. I'm open to just about any of these games but with so many I don't really know where to start.

Should also mention that if I get any of the XIII titles, I won't get around to them until I get XIII proper since it isn't part of the sale/on PSN at all and I might as well play those in order.

After playing XV, I've been on a huge Final Fantasy kick. I'm going through VII right now and have the X/X-2 HD Remasters (edit: and World of Final Fantasy) lined up for later. After that though, I have no idea where I should go. This sale came at just the right time though since I'm so interested in the series now, but there's quite a bit of stuff and I have a limited budget or I would probably get most of it all.

My options are (and all will be the PS3 versions (or PS1 Classics) unless otherwise noted):

Final Fantasy Origins

Final Fantasy V

Final Fantasy VI

Final Fantasy VIII

Final Fantasy IX

Final Fantasy XIII-2

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII

Final Fantasy Tactics

Final Fantasy Type-0 HD (PS4)

Edit: Should also mention I have about $20 on my account now, but can add a bit more later. Most (all?) of the PS1 classics are 5 bucks, Type-O is 15, XIII-2 is about 7.50 and LR is 10

Surprising nobody, it's Kolin/Helen. And I liked that Lupe Fiasco track, guess I should finally give him a listen.

Guess it's early Sunday morning on the east coast now, but I'm about to eat dinner and play some more Final Fantasy XV, might try out that Power Rangers beat 'em up that came out this week too.

Guilty Gear Xrd: Rev. 2 was announced today and will be coming out this Spring. Will apparently be DLC for Revelator and will have a physical release. Two new characters shown off so far. Answer (Chipp's secretary chief of staff) and fan favorite Baiken. At least one new stage was shown off as well (can't tell if the stage Answer was fighting on was new or not) Here's the trailer:

I don't watch too many movies when they're current, but my friends did drag me to see a bunch of comic book films and I liked most of them.

Films I liked:

Deadpool

Captain America: Civil War

Dr. Strange

Films I thought were alright with flaws that are hard to ignore:

Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV

Batman: The Killing Joke (would probably be in the above list but that Batgirl prologue brought it down)

Biggest Disappointment:

Batman v. Superman (have not watched the extended cut, only the theatrical cut, it's not all bad either but the bad outweighs the good by a fair portion)

A bunch of snacks.

Amazon Gift Card (haven't used it on anything yet)

PSN Credit (Used on Street Fighter V's Character Pass for 2017 and Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 on PS4 as per my friend's wishes)

Trafalgar Law figure (One Piece manga/anime character)

Bleach manga artbook

Tickets to see six different bands (mainly to see Gojira and Devin Townsend Project, but also Mastodon, Opeth, Eagles of Death Metal and Russian Circles) in May. Probably the best chance a friend of mine and I can see DTP since we've wanted to see them live for years, and the best chance for me to finally see Gojira live. Never been in Philly either so that will potentially be fun as well during downtime. Also I'm at least somewhat familiar with every band except Russian Circles so I gave them a listen and I really like them a lot. It's hard for me to get into instrumental music outside of soundtracks for games/films/TV so this band is definitely something for me to look out for, and I imagine they'll be phenomenal to hear live.

Ranking up for the first time in Street Fighter V. Still in that same spot but I never thought I would be able to get in any wins online but I managed.

Nearly wiping out the whole team with D.Va's Ultimate in Overwatch once.

The stinger at the end of Guilty Gear Xrd: Revelator's story mode.

The Kahuna and Champion battles in Pokemon Sun/Moon, mainly for the music that plays.

Getting the Mega Levels of the main protagonists of first three seasons of Digimon in my team in Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth. Nostalgia levels off the charts there.

Still enjoying the gameplay in Ratchet & Clank after all these years. Probably one of my favorite platforming series' ever.

Seeing some of the improvements in Telltale's engine in The Walking Dead: Michonne, and actually enjoying that little series despite my reservations of having to play an already established character in The Walking Dead franchise. It still works really well.

Finding out who the villain was in Batman: The Telltale series and the eventual confrontation with them. Any changes to the typical mythos were really neat for me too in that game.

Don't really have one for my last two games on my GOTY List.

As for some really great moments in games that didn't make the list:
Doom's opening.

Can't think of much else, didn't really get to play that many games from this year sadly.

Here's a quick link to the list itself.

GOTY 2016

1. Street Fighter V
The fighting game that made me want to "git gud." Haven't quite made it there but winning fights online and making progress in some of the Survival/Training stuff were some of the biggest moments in gaming for me this year because I feel like I've come a long way since I started getting back into fighting games with the Mortal Kombat reboot where I would just mash buttons. I still have a long way to go though.
2. Overwatch
I almost never go online with FPS games, but the colorful cast of characters in this game made me bite the bullet and pick it up, and its a whole lot of fun. I love all of the characters in some way or another, if not for gameplay then for their looks and personalities. I've laughed out loud at a few of their lines/emotes and that's a pretty big deal for me and made me realize this was something special. I've probably spent a lot more on this game for loot boxes than I should admit as well.
3. Guilty Gear Xrd -Revelator-
The other fighting game that makes me want to "git gud." Love this series a lot, and the story mode was pretty great. Can't wait to see what happens next.
4. Pokémon Sun/Moon
I'm glad I came back to Pokemon a few years ago. This game shakes the formula up enough that it almost feels like its reinventing Pokemon in some ways that I really enjoy. The story is pretty good and I love the music!
5. Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth
I'm absolutely blown away by how much I enjoyed this game, with and without nostalgia. I loved the first three seasons of the Digimon anime when I was a kid (bought all three on DVD a few years ago as well) There's a few bits of shoddy localization but the story and gameplay (as well as seeing some of my favorite Digimon) more than make up for it. Absolutely recommend this one if you're a fan of the Digimon series.
6. Ratchet & Clank
I'm glad to see these two back in this remake... reboot? Still don't know. The gameplay is still as fun as ever and seeing a few things remixed in the original game's story was fun to observe. I wonder how things might turn out after this, if the movie didn't ruin any chance of keeping this series going anyway.
7. The Walking Dead: Michonne
I was going to pass on this for a number of reasons, but felt that Telltale itch creeping up on me right when this game was on sale on PSN so I grabbed it, and I'm glad I did. Shorter than a regular season and the episodes went by fast, so it didn't overstay its welcome. There's some new things with this game that I hope are incorporated into Season 3 here in a few days.
8. Batman: The Telltale Series
This game would be higher up if it wasn't for some technical issues that keep it lower on this list. I really like how they shake up the Batman mythos for this game in some interesting ways, and I liked the villain as well. I do have hope for a second season for this, I just hope it runs just a bit smoother and with less game crashes next time around.
9. One Piece: Burning Blood
I was in a big One Piece mood when this went on sale so it was a bit of an impulse buy, but I enjoyed it well enough. Some of the story fights (and the fact that the story was mainly set only during the Marineford arc) were really frustrating/disappointing and getting all of the trophies in the game is a HUGE grind that I likely won't be going for, but its still fun to have a decent selection of characters from the One Piece series fight each other. Can only really recommend this one to One Piece fans though.
10. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2
Upgraded overworld and graphics are really nice, and I enjoyed the music as well, but the story this time when compared to a lot of the "what if?" scenarios in the last game was a let down.
