2012 Games I'm looking forward to playing at the start of 2013

So basically this is an extension of my Game of the Year 2012 list where I mention games I didn't get to play that I'd imagine would have made it into my top 10, just based on what I've seen and heard about them.

List items

  • Well it's Giant Bomb's 2012 Game of the Year, I have to check it out right? To be honest I was pretty sold on it after the Quick Look. It looked really interesting, and turn based strategy was a genre I had barely touched over the years. This is going to be my big game for January 2013 I'm sure.

  • I love stealth and Ninjas. Seriously though, this seems to be one of the most intelligently made and, consequently, accessible games in a genre I've always loved despite it's inherently frustrating trial and error gameplay.

  • I've already started this one, and already I'm loving the hell out of it. I don't hate quick time events as much as most people, but I will admit they have been overused in recent years. However, I did not see myself enjoying a game mostly comprised of them as much as I'm enjoying Asura's Wrath. What a ridiculous game.

  • I got it for Christmas. I garotted a guy. I dragged him around with the fiber wire. I was dressed as a Chef. I think this game seems pretty cool.

  • FTL triggered a need to discover more games to play out my space exploration fantasies. Sure the Mass Effect series scratched that itch in some ways, but something like Endless Space scratches two itches. My love of space and empire building.

  • I feel like I need to check this out, it's that simple.

  • Same as Fez, I feel like this is something I need to see, especially since it was mostly done by a single dude.

  • Another Christmas game, and you know what, it's pretty darn fun.

  • This was part of the instant game collection for PS Plus Vita, I've spent a little bit of time with it and so far I'm having a pretty good time with it. Whether I continue to enjoy it is something only time will be able to tell me.
