Just play Natural Selection 2. It has a lot of similar things like aliens that run on walls, invisible aliens, marines with jetpacks and exosuits, dark places where aliens can hunt for marines and so on. It even came out relatively recently so it has that going on for it.

Besides, how many people have this game so that they can just install it and get something like this going. At best I'd see it as a side thing on a Quake TNT or something where they do like grab bag of older PC multiplayer games.

Well sure there's similar games, but this was brought up during last nights "Spookin With Scoops" where they played it, and wanted to try some multiplayer.

So yeah, if it happens it will likely be some side thing on TNT, but should still be fun!

Is this available as a digital download anywhere?

I don't think so, haven't found any. Think you gotta eBay hunt this. :)

Haaayoooo!

After Patrick and Drew's bold statement to make a multiplayer event happen with this game(Possible TNT), I thought we could help them along!

So what I think we could do, is gather some information about best clients to use for this and of course some test subjects.

So it would seem that there is a workaround and STILL active servers! It's.. just kinda hidden.

Here's how to get it to work!

  1. Install Aliens Versus Predator 2
  2. Download and install Patch 1.0.9.6 - Download link (Filefront)
  3. Download and install "Master server patch 1.5.3" - Download link (Filefront)
  4. Run the client, go to Multiplayer Internet (Note: it will ask about an update - You can just cancel this)
  5. Find a server - Join - And play!

Other options include installing new maps/skins/and all other fun.

Credit goes to: http://www.avpunknown.com/ for making the patch and mods and whatnot...

@Kerned: I just think it's weird wanting checkpoints in hitman, atleast without some consequence. It's not that I want it to be like Dark Souls (oh god), but still.. I know experimenting is a large part and it stills seems possible from what I've read other places, maybe he's doing it wrong? :P Oh and he talks about being annoyed because he feels there's not enough assassinations and to much walking. And sure, we all love a good assassination, but walking around, setting up a good kill, has always been a part of hitman.

And yeah, I reeeeeaaally hope this game doesn't suck, not only for the Hitman series but also for IO interactive.. They really need this to be good after having "fun" with Mini Ninjas + Kane And Lynch :S

In the end I guess it's probably one of those games you love or hate for it's weird mechanics, maybe this guy had to much nostalgia of Blood money - for Absolution to ever live up to it? Guess we'll know soon!

There you have it. People who post on hitmanforum.com are clearly the most dire critics. Fanboys of a game series are the realest of reviewers.

Are you being sarcastic? Fanboys will rabidly defend the thing they love no matter what.

Ehh.. all I can say to that is: Mass Effect 3 ending

Yeah, fair enough. But the people who lost their shit about ME3 actually played the whole game, not just a portion of it at the invitation of the developer. It's not a fair comparison.

Well I have no idea how much those guys were allowed to play, none the less it doesn't change that fanboys can change to flamewars in a heartbeat. :D

Now I've read some of what that PC Gamer guy wrote in his review, and I'm not sure I can take it serious.. He complains about not getting awesome guns to start with, and not being able to quicksave every second.. Why would that ever be a thing in Hitman?

He also just wants to do assassinations all the time and no walking. Does he even know the point of the Hitman series?

Or is it me that's wrong in my idea of how Hitman is supposed to be played?

Hmm there's of course combinations that seems to be more fun than others. (My favorite being Vinny + Dave + Drew, but that's also because they seem to enjoy the same weird shit I do, while giving zero fucks about Halo 4)

But I never seem to turn anything off just because of a person - It's almost always the game that makes me do it.

Maybe people take Quick looks to serious.. Because I don't get all the Patrick hate, I usually enjoy his stuff and am looking forward to the return of Spooking with Scoops.

But hey, everyone is free to watch what they want! :P

I still fear for absolution. I just know the story won't be as deep and meaningful as it could be.

The voice-acting is usually pretty poor as well. The idea of the game has so much potential. But I want a reason to play it apart from the gameplay. I want to be sucked into the story and have to know what happens next. A bit like deus ex / mass effect.

Wait.. people played Hitman for the story?
