I've still never beaten Earthbound on my own... gotta get on that. I think you just inspired me though, it is a beautiful game that holds up so well. This was a pleasure to read.

One thing that can get into your head when focusing on immersion is the fact that your dude/gal doesn't seem to have to heed nature's call. I'm thinking mainly of Skyrim where I've added appropriate mods to increase immersion and make more of foods/cooking/hunting/resting but then there are no shitters! Every now and then a dungeon or bandit camp might have what looks like a secluded room with chamber pot but nothing in developed areas. That can be quite immersion breaking since they've worried about all the other shite even without mods.

of course any slowdown after a long stretch of fluid gaming will snap one out of the trance and remind you that you now only have three hours before work and you've been up all night drinking beer. mouthwash and coffee time!

I'll probably be getting the Mass Effect DLC myself when the time comes but right now I'm actually still all the way back on ME2 nearish the end (I think), and have been successful in keeping myself in a spoiler-free bubble. Need to find the time to catch up on that.... ahhhhh.

Wait a sec, is it just me or does that song sound like the shop music from Fantasy Zone? (go to 2:26)

About $3.55 here in Queens for regular... although I turned in my plates earlier this year since I decided driving was something I could do without for a while... mainly due to my poor old Volvo running into some issues I can't afford to fix at the moment. ='(

The insurance costs here are pretty crazy, too.

ME 2 became a trudge to the finish after the 10 hour mark. No matter the story situation, every fucking mission turned into an hour long shooting fest in arenas with chest-high walls. FUCK THAT.

This. (Although I still enjoyed the game... and yeah, I'm just not very good at FPSses)

On another note, reading through this thread actually makes me want to take a stab at DA2. I absolutely loved DAO and was pretty stoked about DA2 until I caught wind of the critical shitstorm... then I kind of avoided all mention of it.

I tend to tank in a lot of games, but for some reason I've found sneaking in TES games (since Morrowind) can be a lot of fun. My character is so far 60-something in sneak, and some of the perks do make it awesomely lethal.

Heh, depending on the enemy I too can still get screwed if detected... and also I agree that with some of the Dwemer ruins and other tunnel systems, sneaking can get a bit tiresome. Defeating a dwarven sphere while remaining undetected is pretty thrilling though.

Imperial only because my first characters in Morrowind and Oblivion were also Imperials, so I guess I like my first playthrough to kind of echo them. Haven't started my second yet, but I'm thinking either Dunmer or Khajiit... probably Dunmer.

I usually only ask about games, and being that Skyrim is pretty new...well, lets just say that i haven't found any unique Two handed swords, but then again i didn't do any dungeon runs.

Haha, in those first few days with Skyrim watching the wikia pages flourish and expand like a big bang was amusing during the few waking moments when I wasn't actually playing the game.

What's also fun is to think of the grossest, stupidest questions you can think of and google them in quotes. The internet will seldom disappoint.
