First of all: who? And second: why should I care?

Basically. I understand the defensiveness but these are people talking about things they don't really care about to people who also don't care. That some of these sites are even mentioning him at all is baffling.

It's an exploitative cash-in. Simple.

But it is cool they made a decent version available on Steam for a decent price.

To get the true meaning, that scene should always be in the original Japanese:

Yeah, and you definitely have the cooler headed opinion. I just get frustrated when people talk about these opinions as though they are fact.

If people need to couch everything with "In my opinion" for you to not assume they are forcing their opinions on you in the guise of facts, you need to re-examine how you are leading you life. Unless there is a citation, assume everything everyone says is an opinion.

I though GoldenEye was bad back in the day, but then again I didn't like Half-Life either so what do I know.

Well, in the case of the Giant Bomb staff, when they state opinions like this, the generally do it with the tone of stating an absolute. Such statements really don't come across as opinion in the context that they're stated.

That's because they are talking directly to people who share the same view. They don't need to word their phrases in a way that fosters debate because they (in this case both) believe the same thing.

Imagine a Bombcast where they qualified every statement they were going to make as an opinion. The thing would be seven hours long. Not to mention that this site is editorial driven, making getting mad about opinions extra crazy.

You exaggerate greatly.

And what you cite is actually a problem with the Bombcast. There's rarely ever disagreement to the point that any of them call each other on their bullshit. One of the best things that happened to the Bombcast was Patrick; his mindset was at the very least different than the four guys that had spent years together since the Gamespot days.

I do exaggerate, but only because people complaining about "opinions as facts" is a pet peeve of mine. It's just so bleedingly obvious to me that unless hard data is involved, of course what someone says is an opinion.

And I don't disagree with your second point. It's to be excepted when the crew has been together as long as they have. I mostly listen to the Bombcast for the non-videogame stuff for that reason, and even then it's usually white noise while I play Planetside 2 or something.

Luke form Tales of the Abyss springs to mind, even if the last third of the game kind of felt like it was dragging its feet. Heather's lack of development through Silent Hill 3 also sticks out to me, but it's a very good thing despite how it sounds.

That case is fucking huge. I have this case and I feel like it has more than enough room for me and I don't have any temperature issues. Why opt for such a large case?

There are screenshots of this port on Totalbiscuit's twitter account. The game supposedly runs at 60 fps so its at least a decent PC release.

The console version ran at 60 also.

When it wanted to. The PS3 version at least had a ton of slowdown issues, to the point where certain stages were banned in tournament play.
