This is needed. Pronounce the game you support and why, bring up your runner-ups and why, bring up what you detest and why. And why should their ultimate GOTY top ten list not be based on what the staff has on their private lists? Why should the final GOTY list be based on who can ramble on the longest until people get tired and give up?

Unless of course 2016 becomes The Year of The Delay. It's not fun to listen when it's the same old thing every year of an hour of fanaticism from the same fella. Listen to the old ones 2008 and on, so much better. We don't need them to waste away years of life recording useless podcasts, the 18 hours could have been cut down to half losing nothing but hot air with some discipline and a change of format, away from NO LISTEN TO ME THIS GAME BLAHBLAH > an hour passes > (everybody mentally decides it'll be okay because they've had enough, JUST LIKE THE LISTENERS HAVE)

My first time through any Souls game I take it super careful and make it a goal to kill everything, do everything, loot everything, because it's a good idea. Second time and on it becomes a sprint to the tools I need. I'm past Gascoigne in under five minutes of Bloodborne whenever I make a new character. It's easy when you know things and have confidence.

I would love to throw a goofy gimmick invasion Dan's way, one that makes him laugh rather than impede his progress.

He just did it by retweeting a Japanese article about the theory of TPP being unfinished and rushed on his Japanese twitter account, which is a big step for someone in the Japanese industry to dare to do.

@dussck: In part I vehemently agree with you in wanting to be able to complete a game in under 20 hours, because many recently have had needlessly large barren worlds and-or insane amounts of filler content just to extend game-time. Won't have to search long to find a game that's so full of forgettable content in its main storyline route that it's like you swear you'll get the final trophy/achievement when the credits start to roll. It's like watching a really good movie and then it takes a break to jam some useless Hollywood cliche romance in there and we all know what those films are like.

In part I think that when games can successfully go 50-80 hours before its done without requiring grinding or terrible amounts of filler material, they absolutely should, so congratulations most of the Japanese long playtime-game devs who can continue doing what they do. (Xenoblade Chronicles X is not part of this group but the original is)

Project Cars doesn't have the purposely horrid handling of Drive Club, both titles are made better with even the cheap Thrustmaster T80 wheel, but that's as good as it gets until Gran Turismo Sport.

Adding: I think Drive Club is absolutely freaking great and all games where you drive cars from now should learn from all of it but the handling and the 30fps, BUT. That handling is meant to be sim+arcade, in actuality it's shit+fart in faster wilder vehicles until you get a wheel but manageable in cute hatchbacks. PCars is flat out track racing, if he digs real life racing and those tracks then that'll be an easy choice
