I bought the Wii for one game (Super Mario Galaxy), the PS3 for one game (Valkyria Chronicles) and the Xbox for one game (Halo). I don't remember any particular game encouraging me to get a 360, I just wanted it. Going back further the same could pretty much be said for every gaming console I've ever had. One game. Some systems panned out better than others but they all started with one game that got my attention.

That said, WiiU has ZombiU and that game really is damn good. For that, I'm pleased. I've also played the hell out of New Super Mario Bros. U and Scribblenauts Unlimited so I consider my purchase more than justified.

What it comes down to is I am an adult with disposable income. It doesn't matter if it is actually all that good, all that matters is that I don't have buyers remorse. It's a competent little system with some interesting promise (but never buy a thing based on the promise, buy it for what it can do today). Is it perfect? No. Is it terrible? No (okay, in some ways it sort of is but it does what I need it to do).

I've got a Kindle Fire and while it is far from perfect it suits my needs really well. Mostly as a video player, I download videos at home (either directly download or transfer from my PC) and watch them at work. The rest of it is decent... or usable anyway. I modded mine to run cyanogenmod so it basically looks and acts like a Nexus 7.

That said, get a Nexus 7.

I have a perfectly capable PC that I could play this on with above normal settings. I'll still get it on my 360.

Couldn't you use the hours and hours and hours of video and audio content that is already available to make one? Including using stuff from the Drive Home videos and such. Could be an interesting exercise anyway.

Haven't touched it or even thought about it since about a month after it came out. I got caught up in my memories of the first game and my hope for the new one but very quickly realized it just wasn't doing it for me. Still I played it nonstop for those first few weeks and then played the auction house game for a few weeks more (making a rather tidy sum of real cash). I should have remembered I grew extremely bored with Diablo 2 within the first month of playing that one too (though I still go back and play the original all the time).

I think regarding game of the year contention it would depend on how they view it in hindsight. A game that burns bright but fades quickly may not be worth talking about for GOTY, the lasting impression was pretty much "yeah, it was good and I played it intensely for a bit but then was totally over it".

Whereas something like Saints Row the Third, which I have not gone back to either is still something I have very positive feelings about and loved.

@Rane500: Yes, welcome. I am a lurker myself only rarely saying anything at all because as you said, others have already said everything and there isn't much need for me to chime in with 'me too'. However...

@Nightriff: How the hell have I never heard this? Combine this with the super slowed down theme and I could just loop the two forever.

I don't feel incredibly passionate about it, but I do play this newest game with the volume off. I'm missing out on all of the sound design because without even realizing it the incessant bah's turned me off completely. That really is a shame. I didn't realize it actually mattered that much to me but it must.
