@danryckert Unfortunately you're wrong that you never have to / never should guess in Picross. With small, simple puzzles like these, probably not, but for larger nonograms it's quite common to require exactly the method Vinny was suggesting: pick one possibility and move forward until you see if it leads to a contradiction or not. In some cases, actually, more than one of the guesses you could make will lead to a correct solution (but there's usually only one that ends up LOOKING right....)

Limbo was a solid 7/10. This does look much better executed.

Whole lot of Old Dan oozing from this QL tbh. It's a paper thin facade.

Brad, it's a little late to take full advantage of this advice, but it will still help you through the rest of the game:

Your #1 priority after you die is ALWAYS ALWAYS GET YOUR SOULS. Even if you have to run into certain death to get them, DO IT. Your bloodstain will spawn closer to the bonfire the next time around, and more importantly there is no penalty for dying hundreds of times in a row, as long as you GET YOUR SOULS. The reason you are under-leveled and under-geared at this point of the game is simply because you have left dozens of potential levels and weapon upgrades rot away.

Also, if you have a particularly souls-heavy bloodstain out in the world somewhere, and you aren't confident you can even reach it without dying first, equip a Ring of Sacrifice. They protect both your current souls, AND your most recent bloodstain.

I completely disagree, if you didn't drop more than 50% of a level then it's not worth worrying about at all. Souls are really easy to get. The game is much more pleasant once you realise that.

This video definitely felt like a step backwards in the learning process. It seemed like you forgot most of the good stuff you gradually figured out from your second rendezvous. Looks like you'll get there eventually though! Make sure to remember to set your nav ball to target mode, and keep boosting on that retrograde. I believe in you.

For me this looks to be imitating Dark Souls to an embarrassing degree. The art in particular does bug me. The design work is pretty solid, in that nothing would look at all out of place in a Souls game (and some of it is really cool!), but the execution/style isn't quite there. i.e. it looks a lot like Dark Souls, except kind of bad.

It's probably still fun though. And everything about The Bloodless Prince gets an A+ from me.

When Austin said "I think we have to burn at apoapsis to get back to Kerbin"

I was so happy

They ARE learning

@l1ama: Yeah of course any thrust will affect your momentum but my point is it wouldn't be enough to have any significant outcome. Is this not correct?

And yeah the power alone wouldn't do anything but there are ways to use that energy for propulsion

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_thermal_rocket

No doubt you can use solar energy to power an engine. But like that article says, you still need "reaction mass" or "propellant" in order to get anywhere. There are actually electrically powered engines in KSP, which use xenon gas as their propellant.

One theoretical answer to this, and something which relates to your question, is the idea of a solar sail. A photon reflecting from an object actually exerts an extremely tiny force on it. So in a way you can be propelled DIRECTLY by solar energy. The thrust is very low (depending on the size of the sail), but as long as you're willing to wait long enough, any amount of acceleration can eventually add up to a very high velocity.

As far as thrust versus weight in space goes, your weight can obviously still be defined by the force of gravity exerted on you by whatever you are orbiting. By the time you're in any stable orbit, that's a very small force, but it still exists. If you're thrusting against that force, and your thrust is smaller than your weight, then.... I think you're right? I don't actually know for sure. But, fortunately, you almost never want to thrust in that direction anyway. For most maneuvers you will want to thrust in either the prograde or retrograde direction of your orbit, which for a circular orbit is at 90 degrees to your weight. Therefore, you don't actually have to fight against your weight at all.

I fucking loved how they stubbornly refused to read the description on the drogue chutes for the third episode in a row, figured out they weren't working anyway, ALMOST REPLACED THEM WITH A DIFFERENT DROGUE CHUTE, and then finally put a real parachute on the rocket purely by accident because it was the first one they found that was the right size. Like. That was just an incredible moment for me.

This is a very entertaining series.
