Yeah, it does seem kind of weird. Especially since some of the unbanned ones are a lot stronger than non legendaries. Also, I'm pretty sure the Battle Tower style places allow Latios and Latias, but not Soul Dew. I've never tried it, but that's what I heard, I think.

@jjor64: The moves that we rules out are specifically moves that raise your evasion stat. So no moves like Double Team or Minimize. Protect and Substitute are a-ok.

Fair enough, though the reason you didn't fight very many people is because you won every time.

There are a lot of interesting mechanics changes that affected the game way more than the obvious new type and mega evolutions (granted, a lot of people don't play with specific megas like Kangaskhan and Gengar).

Yeah, I've always said that the score doesn't really show how close a match was. A 6-0 can still be a close, long game. Maybe it just happened to end with one player finding an opening for their sweep after a long set of posturing.

My moves in these battles were kind of weak. I should have attacked with more purpose instead of just using my moves. Also, Tyranitar somehow always manages to blindside me.

Who did the game say won this time? Was it the same? Surely it must have some system for "correctly" determining winners in that scenario. Otherwise, we could go really in depth on who probably would have stalled out the other based on PP, but that sounds kind of tedious...

I think that crit on earthquake in the first battle saved my life. Also, the second battle may have gone differently if Scizor had gotten pegged by that Fire Blast. Mega Lucario is tough for my team to handle without Chandelure. My prediction has been getting kind of rusty lately, so I kept losing him.

I think that even in that case, there's not much Mega Absol can do back to Togekiss. It would probably have just sent us back into the loop of Mega Absol -> Talonflame -> Ferrothorn/Goodra and that hurt me more than it hurt you.

Chandelure wouldn't have worked because, I believe, at that point in the battle, he was low enough that Bullet Punch could have taken him out, so it would have to be sacrifice Whimsicott to get Chandelure in, but that would rely on my opponent leaving Encored Lucario in against Chandelure. Maybe I would have been able to take it if I did that and managed a Dragon Dance on Dragonite.

Getting Scizor paralyzed was a pretty big misread from me. I actually didn't think he was going to use Thunderwave. If I did, I might have switched to Absol to reflect it, but Ferrothorn probably would have been the best move because Gyro Ball can threaten Togekiss. I definitely would have gone with Draco Meteor if I had remembered that Mamoswine got Thick Fat, so that's a research error from me. >_> Even without that knowledge there are a few times I should have used it anyway against Rotom in the endgame.

Probably the biggest error I ever made was using Protect in the first match. I lost so much momentum doing that. Though I'm not sure what else I could have done. Mega Lucario out-speeds Whimsicott, so I actually couldn't Encore him like I wanted to. Chandelure was also too low in HP by then.

I got really unlucky in the second battle, but that's kind of the score when you play with low hit percent moves. I've hit with Fire Blast so many times in the past, it had to fail me eventually. I also made a few silly mistakes. Like I forgot Defog would still Defog me if I Magic Bounced it, so I spent and extra turn switching Ferrothorn in. I also probably should have just KOed Mandibuzz, but I got greedy and wanted him to Defog to remove the Stealth Rock on my side. I should have accepted the rocks because they would have been way worse for the other team than mine.
