Satisfying point-and-click 0

I enjoyed this game much more than other point-and-click adventure games of the period.  Although it still suffers from some of the problems of the genre, the characters are generally well written and believably integrated into the setting.  The investigation throughout the story has several branches, some of which are dead-ends.  This may sound frustrating, but I liked the way that you followed all the leads the evidence gave and some of them were good leads and some of them weren't.  The game ...

Crazy smashing fun 0

This is a game where you smash things in a trash can and then burn them. This is a game where crazy little aliens (or demons, or whatever) give you helpful items if you protect their valuable items. Experiences from the beta 6

I don't plan on buying this game after playing the beta.  From viewing the videos on the site from the full release, I don't see that a whole lot has changed from the beta.  I think this is a solid multiplayer shooter, but I don't see a whole lot to recommend this game over titles like Battlefield and Modern Warfare 2.   A major problem I had with the game was that the mechanics of the game were poorly explained.  You choose a faction that you stay in until you delete the character.  There are d...

Not what I expected 0

From being a fan of Final Fantasy Tactics and Front Mission, I got this game expecting a similar style of gameplay in the Romance of the Three Kingdoms setting.  Unfortunately, this game is much more like a puzzle game than a tactical RPG.  Your units have different abilities that can activate when certain positions occur on the board.  If you chain these together, you can do a "tactical combo" that leads to a large amount of damage depending on how long the chain is.  This type of gameplay is i...

An excellent story looking for a good game. 0

Hotel Dusk is an adventure game very much from the Japanese "visual novel" tradition rather than the American "point-and-click" tradition.  It has a very engaging story-line and well-developed characters.  Unfortunately, I thought most of the puzzles were poorly conceived, and wandering through the halls of the hotel in the 3D navigation sections was tiring.  Some of the puzzles were logical, but there were more than a few that seemed very difficult and I was forced to grab a walkthrough.  I wo...
