I'd stay at Anor Londo, hang around the bonfire in the castle and farm some of the Silver Knights for a while, just to build up souls and humanity. After you've got some humanity summon someone? Sorry, I'm not playing a strength build, so I couldn't help you with the finer points of close combat with Bebop and Rocksteady. Out of curiosity, what are you using for armor and ring equips?
I can only speak to my own experience, but I'm going to go ahead and say that if you've found nothing enjoyable about the game before Blighttown, you're never going to.
@VictoryBlixt: I heard that it was his call on leaving the second disk of off the Metal Gear Solid collection for that reason (the last one, not the HD one). It's complete hearsay on my part, but from what I've heard he really doesn't think those games hold up.
Most of the ones I hold in high regard (The Thing, The Shining, Alien) have been mentioned, so here are some I enjoy more for the entertainment aspect/these were films I grew up with. In no particular order:
Fright Night Monster Squad The Lost Boys My Best Friend is a Vampire (this may be less of a horror movie and more of a teen comedy)
Huh. I seem to have watched a lot of vampire movies when I was younger. As for not vampires, I am also a big fan of Phantasm 1&2, and Hellraiser 1&2. The awesomeness of Dead Alive is also something that needs to be restated.
Edit: Sorry, right, the originals...I have no idea.
Edit Once Again: I would kind of think not, as I've heard Kojima doesn't really hold them in very high esteem, but I'm surprised the Subsistence bonuses are being included in the first place, so...I still have no idea. :< It'd be great if they were though.
