I thought it was a joke when I saw the name of it. I even initially thought WTF is this thing for. Then I learned that it is aimed at kids younger than 7 and it started making a lot more sense. No moving parts and more sturdy and no 3D which is apparently not okay for kids under 7 based on the warnings on my 3ds although I'm not sure why that is. Given these things it started making a lot more sense. This is why Nintendo do what Nintendo do and I just work at a regular job.
I actually did this a lot when I was in high school in the early 2000's when webcams still sucked ass. I have to imagine it's way better now. The interaction was always fine but the video always sucked.
I just recently bought a Scion FRS. I was going to get a Subaru BRZ but the salesman was a total douchebag so I went down the street since they're the same car minus some interior trim stuff. I don't really have a specific dream car but this one while not super fast is so much fun to drive around town and through the windy mountain roads in Idaho. The only thing I don't really like about it is all of the attention I get from people. It is real fun to see little kids looking at it and asking their dad what it is. I suppose a lot of that will go away as time goes on and they get a little more common.
Having read through this entire thread up to this point I haven't read anything that benefits consumers with an online only (to play games) console. The no disc thing could easily be fixed by requiring a disc if no internet connection is detected while not requiring one if there is internet. Automatic updates is a nice thing but shouldn't be something to force people to have internet if they don't want or cant get internet where they play games. Multiplayer games is a dumb reason as it changes nothing from how it is on the 360 or ps3 now. Basically all of the arguments people are making for it have no reason for it to be required rather than just beneficial to those that have it other than multiplayer only games. Even the Forza example wouldn't need 100% of the people to make enough ai profiles to fill people's games with drivers. Obviously they already have AI in there because people have to play the game to begin with in order to create the first player imaged profiles. I'm just rambling at this point I guess.
It was brought up that they had discussed it and it may be a slightly different format. Sounded like they had just discussed it a bit but hadn't decided on anything when they recorded the Bombcast though. Either way you'll get your sweet Italian needs filled I would have to guess.
