I don't think people were really complaining about it not looking good. It looks great, but it just wasn't what people wanted their Zelda game to look like.
The thing that bothered me the most towards the end of the game was actually the way enemies would come in waves in some rooms. There was one side room that looks like a simple room for the player to gather some supplies and feel comfortable for a second, which is why it's effectively jarring that a necromorph flies out of the ceiling and attacks. So I killed it and thought, "good call, guys. I wasn't expecting that." Then another necro pops out of the same ceiling vent and I strategically dismember his ass and think to myself, "I see what you did there. Got me again." Then another one jumps down and I blast his ass with my sweet force gun (I named her Isabella) and I think, "seriously? This is just getting silly." Then out comes the fourth one--"What the fuck, guys!"
