Finally, Horizon getting some more recognition from the crew! I felt it got a little short changed (Jeff's glowing review notwithstanding of course) due to Zelda being released nearly at the same time.
Can't say this enough- the writing in this game really *is* extremely good. Intelligent, super well executed, dialogue is really good and even the side quests are well developed. A far cry from Far Cry's (...sorry) cookie cutter approach to side quest writing.
Also love the sense of melancholy for all that was lost as well as the optimism (we'll rebuild even after disaster) in the script. Really can't remember the last time a game made me feel this way.
I found it admirable how the GB and Nintendo crews were dealing with the inherent ridiculousness of some of these games. All that talk of "feeling balls" and "milking" with a steady motion must become... hard. After a while.
I love the GOTY discussions, even when the team lands on picks I wouldn't have chosen. I don't need the world to echo my viewpoints all of the time, and I don't get angry when that inevitably happens. Helps to keep your blood pressure in check, in my experience.
I want to thank the duders for yet another year of fantastic content. Love y'all.
