What a dick thing for Gamestop to do.  Words cannot describe how much of a viscous douche Gamestop is as a company.  I am officially continuing my boycott of that store.  Games are cheaper on Amazon anyway.

Personally, I think the lineup of exclusives alone make it worthwhile (God of War III, Uncharted 2, Heavy Rain, Killzone 2 & 3, Gran Turismo, etc).

If it were me, I would get the PS3 and use my 360 only for it's exclusives to help delay the RROD.

Ditch the iPhone OS and put a slightly-modified-for-iPad version of OSX on there.  Then add a USB port and drop the price by $100.

Then, and only then, would I even consider buying one.

RhombusOfTerror is on point.  It's got to be the laptop drives.  And stick with the 5400 rpm drives, I wouldn't go with the 7200 rpm drives since, although they may read and write faster, they also produce more heat.  I was more concerned about heat than speed when I replaced my 60gb with a 5400 rpm 320gb (back when 320 was the largest available drive).

Oh, and be careful unscrewing those screws, they strip very easily.

I have the 2000 and I've played on my friends 3000 - personally I don't like the screen on the 3000.  We were playing FF Tactics and the interlacing was really noticeable and distracting.  I would go with the 2000 for sure.  I also have the Go and love it since it is SO much more portable, but not something to get if you are on a budget.

Hey, isn't the PS3 the same price as the Xbox 360 Elite? (the only worthwhile SKU)  And I'm with the other peeps when it comes to Activision's overpriced peripherals+game.  Bobby Kotick needs to take his own advice.
