@SinGulaR:  That essay's in German? That's pretty hardcore!

@Pazy:  Good luck with Twilight. I got about 200 pages in before I lost all of my patience with it. Also, the movie is the worst thing I've ever seen in my life (Jensonb and I did a commentary as a Counter Culture Weekly Christmas special).
Also, regarding non-franchise books, I think Infected by Scott Sigler would be a good book to check out. It's basically The Stand crossed with CSI. Only with 100% less Walkin' Dudes.
On the subject of Stephen King, I think you'll like a lot of his stuff as well. I personally recommend Carrie and Misery, as they're relatively quick and easy to read.

Yes, I know what you're thinking.
 "SteepInKline, reading is dumb!"
That may be, but that won't stop me from doing it every once in a while.
Currently, I'm catching up on The Dresden Files series, as the new book, Changes, just came out. I'm on book 10, Small Favor, so I've got to get a move on if I want to catch up.
What about you guys? What have you been reading lately?

Just thought I'd post a few updates, as it's been quite a while since I last blogged.

  • Those of you who haven't been listening to Counter Culture Weekly are missing out. My personal favorite moment on the podcast: recording a Star Trek-esque opening (complete with music).
  • I'm still writing fiction, albeit on an irregular schedule (thanks, AP Euro term paper!). Since I last blogged, I've started two works-in-progress that I hope to turn into novels at some point.
  • I still like anime (and thus, according to Jeff Gerstmann, am still a jerk). I've applied for a panel at Otakon 2010 entitled Anime and the Heroic Journey. Though I won't hold my breath expecting you to come, if you're in Baltimore, MD from July 30th-August 1st, it's probably not the worst thing you could attend, even with all the crazy cosplayers and stupid fanfiction writers.
  • Helicopters are still a threat.

Well, having said all of that, I'm SteepInKline, and I'm Oscar Mike.

Oh my God! I'm an idiot! And a genius! GREATEST. WEBSITE. EVER.

As they said above, don't read too much into the clues; the answer is staring you right in the face.

Gentlemen, gentlemen, let's not be little bitches and start a flame war in this podcast thread. Let's be mature adults in this situation and chill the fuck out.

@diz: Stop overthinking things. We get it, you think the podcast is dumb. Quit trying to tell us in excruciating detail WHY you don't like it. No matter how many big words you use, you do not (and WILL not) sound smart; in fact, you sound just the opposite.

As Jensonb said, get the hell off MY internet.

End of discussion.

  • STAY OUT OF TALL GRASS!
  • If two people's eyes meet, they must battle IMMEDIATELY.
  • Don't give your phone number to people whose asses you just kicked; they'll call you nonstop.
  • Team Rocket will always find themselves blasting off again.
  • Whenever a silent dude and another silent dude meet, it's obviously gonna be an epic showdown.
  • Even when he doesn't (and/or shouldn't), Pikachu always wins.
  • Any group with "Team" in front of their names is always bad. ALWAYS.

You can get Lugia earlier in SoulSilver, and Lugia is BADASS, ergo SoulSilver > HeartGold.

At least, that's MY opinion, anyway.

Hopefully others can actually comment on this one... I thought it was actually one of our better episodes!
