I don't go anywhere for reviews, in fact I don't read the reviews on here.  I do take advice on what to buy though, through the Bombcast and other podcasts out there during their segments where they talk about what games they've been playing.  To me that's a more "real" way of describing their experience with the game rather than a carefully worded review.

Epic Mickey.  As I've said before, it was like having your parents rent out the Magic Kingdom for your birthday, but all you could do there was bob for apples in the lobby at the Hall of Presidents.  Great atmosphere, no fun.  Also Metroid: Other M.  I've never not liked a Metroid game.  Sad.

It would be a huge mistake to jump from the 1100s, to the 1400s, to 2012.  The span of time outside of the Animus that AC, AC2 and Brotherhood took place in was a few weeks according to Brotherhood, and they have more than that amount of time before things start to get uh...heavy.  Also, without spoiling anything, the story doesn't seem to be anywhere near a conclusion and is just getting more and more interesting with each installment.  I think were about 2-3 time periods away (I don't want to say 2-3 games away, since they could always spin off a future episode just like they did AC2) from the Desmond entry of the series.  And hey, who knows, maybe there will still be more in the story after that.

Saw this and thought "sure, I'll put a vote in for the Bombcast, if it wins, it wins, if not, it's cool."  Then I saw that RebelFM is winning and that is just unacceptable.  Looks like I'll be putting in a vote or two at work tonite as well now.

I guess having "opening" be defined would help, but if we're going with overall opening sequence, regardless of length, the easy answer for me is BioShock.  I don't know if it's cheating giving it to BioShock since I consider the opening sequence of that game to be about the first 45 minutes, although Fallout 3's opening was about that long, however didn't impact me as much.  I'd give an honorable mention to Final Fantasy X.  Anything that makes me ask "What is going on?" and "What is about to happen?" is a winner to me.

Symphony of the Night is the greatest game of all time.  Game, not Castlevania game.  I love Harmony, Aria, and Dawn but SotN has better music, a better story, a better castle layout, better weapons, the crissaegrim...did I mention the music?  I can even overlook the huge flaw of having to equip a healing item and then throw it on the ground in front of you to use it.  I can absolutely see why people would choose any of the other Metroidvania style games, but for me personally, this is the best of the group.

@MementoMori: Completely agree.  I got to that part and thought it was a brilliant ending...simple but effective.  Then it kept going and went downhill once some certain information was revealed.  I think the game play is great, especially since it reminded me of those BBS days of old, but the story could have gone in a way better direction than it did.

@ESREVER: If 999 is one spot above Assassin's Creed, I may have to check it out.

Sort of like how the original Left 4 Dead box had a right hand missing it's thumb rather than a left hand.  Now that would have been a huge opportunity missed.
