Here's the pilot so far:
Docks, exterior, night. Rookie beat cops Alex and Alexis are out on the beat, crackin' wise to each other. Suddenly they hear the scream that resembles a young lady. They run towards the scream in an alley of containers at the docks, but alas, they are to late. The deed is done, a dead body lies on the ground. They check out the body, and despite the high pitched scream and lady clothing, the persons driver liscence states his name is Brad Muir. Alex sees an opportunity to get noticed, and wants to investigate the crime scene, Alexis reluctantly agrees. Suddenly they see it, one of the containers are open, and sobbing can be heard from the inside. They open the doors wide, and inside they find a young man with curly hair and extraordinary thin arms. Camera zooms in on his teary eyes. Cut to black.
Theme song rolls. (Feel free to make one)
Detectives Brad and Vinny have arrived at the scene. They get filled in on the spesifics by the young beat cops. Blood spatter analyst Drew informes them that the cause of death was a jar to the face. Brad and Vinny look at each other, both wearing sunglasses.
"Looks like we got ourself a hot potato" says Brad.
"Looks pretty cold. To me." Vinny replies.
"Cold. Or dead?". Brad asks with irony.
They ask the beat cops where the potential witness was, the kid hiding in the container. Turns out that notorious detective Jeff Gerstmann has already brought him in for questioning. Brad and Vinny shake their heads and gives the rookies a speech for letting Jeff take the kid, then they leave the crime scene, and head back to the station.
Back at the station, Jeff is sitting at his desk. He wears a bandage on his right arm. He takes a zip of whiskey from his trusty jar. He is approached by Brad and Vinny. They ask him where the kid is. Jeff says he cut him loose. He didn't know anything. Vinny notices Jeff's bandage, and then looks at his jar. He can tell from the minor stains at the jar that his is a new jar. Vinny and Jeff have a staring contest. Music builds up.
Cut to commercial.
The plot thickens. Have a spin at this, see what you can do with it.
