" With all my maxed out stuff...on the lowest difficulty...I'm nearing the 4 hour mark in Fraud.  o_o  For realsies.  I was curious to see how fast the game can be run in, and I'm also trying to collect the rest of the relics for the achievements...and apparently, I also missed two Virgil commentaries somewhere...  He's a sneaky bastard. "
If I started on classic from the start I could probably shave off 40-60 minutes. I didn't go exploring but managed to get all of the Virgil commentaries (protip: you can talk to him multiple times in one spot). I maxed out Unholy about 10 minutes before the final boss and will probably have another go to max the rest and get relics + that 1 Judas coin I'm missing.

Well, 6 hours, 66 minutes, and 46 seconds. I posted the image URL.

Was pretty good. I had low expectations because Darksiders and Bayonetta really set the bar this year, but I think the art direction and stellar presentation made up for any gameplay faults (and there wasn't many aside from sloppy platforming). The game is ridiculously hard; I began on Zealot and while it wasn't too hard in most places, bosses were insanely overpowered. Switched to classic around Greed.

I rolled with a duder in ME1. When I get revived, can I change my gender and troll Ashley and Liara hard?

I fail to see where Dante's Inferno is copying God of War. They're both in the same genre: hack'n'slash. There are similarities in gameplay mechanics, but this is expected since they're in the same genre. And before you point the finger at Dante's Inferno, keep in mind God of War is a blatant ripoff of Devil May Cry (devs even admitted so). DMC wasn't the one who invented the genre (Onimusha did), but it is the series that brought it to light and popularity.

Besides, I think Christian mythos is much more interesting than Greek lore.

" God of War puts a lot of variety in it. According to the demo, this doesn't. "

Haha, what. God of War is so monotonous and lacks any variety at all. The first God of War had what, like six different skills/magic you can use? According to previews of Dante's Inferno, this game is having an entire skill tree and a rudimentary level up system.

I'm not even going to read this entire thread because I'm pretty sure all or most of the comments are as dumb as the one above; if you don't like the game, then don't buy it: don't even discuss it if you don't have a grain of interest.

tl;dr: God of War apologists think their game is the best ever and don't like change, even when it's in the right direction.

Bioware is a development studio, not a publisher. It is the publisher's decision whether or not a journalism site gets an advance copy; Bioware is not to blame here.

@ShaunassNZ: I hope he does it because it'll be the first review I will look forward to several months in advance. If Jeff gives it a 5/5 then we know it's the best game ever made.

@MMMMCheese: That's a bad idea, duder. If anything, Jeff should write it. Think of it this way: if Jeff gives K&L2 a 5/5, we will know, without a doubt, that it is an amazing game.

Am I the only one who liked Kane & Lynch here? Yeah, I read/watched the Gamespot review, and at the time I had no idea who Jeff even was. I didn't pay attention to videogame politics at the time because games are meant to be fun. A lot of you are acting as if you really know Jeff or any of the other GB staffers and are trying to be the "in crowd" be referencing what controversy Jeff had. I don't even see why any of you care because it didn't happen to you. Sure, it may had inadvertently lead to the creation of Giantbomb, but again, why do you guys feel the need to express what a tool you are by bringing it up?

As for K&L: I really liked the story and presentation of the first game, and the gameplay was top notch until a point. The whole "we're the bad guys" vibe really got my blood flowing and until you get to South America the game was perhaps my favorite that year. Once it went to SoAme, though, it went to shit. The squad controls were absolute trash in that game, which is why I'm even more pumped for K&L2 now that squads are eliminated altogether.

I think everyone is just riding on Jeff's controversy and not even playing the game; it got fair reviews from everywhere, and even looking back at Jeff's review, a 6/10 isn't necessarily a bad score. Sure, it's below average, but that doesn't mean it's not fun or good. Remember review scores are based on games of higher caliber, so when Halo 2 gets a 9.5/10 or whatever, of course K&L will get a considerably lower score because the bar is set so high. If K&L came out in the PS2 era it would have been in high praise everywhere.

Before you all go "Fuck Io Interactive! Fuck Kane & Lynch!", go back and play the goddamn game. I actually hope Jeff reviews K&L2, but not because of the shitstorm it'll stir up everywhere, but because Jeff is an honest-to-god great reviewer and I value his opinion a lot. The way he described his first impressions of the game, I imagine he might even like it. All I'm saying is to hold your horses on the bullshit until the game is actually out or at least when a demo is out.
