My utter enjoyment of Crackdown was a big reason why I didn't spend much time with GTA4 after I finished the main story.  When you're used to super human abilities, anything less in an Open World game now feels like the volume's turned down to me.

Prototype is one of my most anticipated games in 2009, unless it turns out to be completely disappointing, I definitely think it will contain more than a few lessons for the future developer of Crackdown 2.  I definitely think Prototype is a good candidate for everyone that would like a Crackdown sequel.

Hearing this connection between Tiesto and the "DJ Hero" game, it's pretty much all but confirmed to me that this game won't be good.  Not because I don't like Tiesto or the genre he's connected to, but because beat mixing (the foundation skill of all electronic dance music DJing and something good hip-hop party rocking DJs can do) is not something that can be easily simplified.  I imagine it's going to be a complete BeatMania clone with button pushing and licensed music.

There's nothing wrong with BeatMania, I love that game, but it's 10 years later.  I was really hoping that they'd try to do a turntablist game (turntablism/scratching is the DJ art that most closely resembles playing an instrument), but it's clear they're not, since trance/house are two genres where turntablism techniques are not used, and really don't fit those styles of music.

Screw the Ultimate Warrior.  His self-centered pseudo-religion and now extreme right wing conservative views negate any of the entertainment value he provided  in his WWF days.  The steroid abuse got to his head and made him legitimately crazy.

This game needs Brett Hart in it without a doubt, and hopefully "simplified" controls translates to them bringing back the classic THQ/AIKI N64 wrestling game controls.

Nice, I can't wait for the Assassins Creed sequel.  When the whole genetic memory premise was revealed before the first one came out, I speculated that the sequels would be set in different periods of time, with there being one that took place in the future (this was before I knew the game does take place in the future, so it would be present day Desmond) and be cyberpunked out.  This setting sounds extremely interesting, but I still can't wait for the one that takes place in our future: cybernetic hand with a retractable dagger ftw!

I definitely check out the new content.  With Fable 2, Fallout 3 and Gears of War coming out back-to-back-to-back weeks, I only played through once (and not too thoroughly, I have some quests remaining and collectibles to get) and just started a new character.  I was definitely planning on going back to it, and playing through the story at least two more times.  But I really enjoyed Fable and played through it 4 times, so I might be the exception to the general opinion.

I don't think it's really news that God of War 3 is looking good.  Though there has been a different director for all of the console games, no doubt the bulk of the core team has stayed intact.

As long as the gameplay is as tight as all the other iterations, God of War 3 is the game I'll buy a PS3 for.  If the game is playable and looking good, that makes it seem like a 2009 release is very much possible.  That'd be a nice surprise considering I thought it was pretty much a lock that 2010 would be when it drops.

The remix soundtrack looks like it has potential, definitely heavy on the Underground Cali hip hop tip.  Hopefully I can snag it via my PSP to check it out, and if the game can be played on the PSP even better!

At least there's one Japanese publisher that doesn't see downloadable content as a means to rape their customers (*cough*NamcoBandai*cough*) and has no problem giving a little something for free every once and a while.

I really want the hoodie, $50/$55 is a pretty standard price for a zip hoodie that's not generic, but delivery to Canada requiring the $25 International shipping charge isn't so hot.  My guess is its a combo of the default PayPal store options and working out all the kinks of the internet mail order operation.

I'll probably end up getting it this weekend anyways, and cross my fingers that I don't have to pay customs duty on it as well.
