I've enjoyed Need for Speed and Burnout titles for a long time. But since both Driveclub and The Crew were both a little disappointing, I think it is time for me to learn a less arcady racer.

Dirt 3 seems like the right game. But with all of the assists on it is very easy, as soon as they are off, I fail a lot.

Should I just keep at it and get my skills up? Is it worth playing through part of the game on easy to have more variety to learn on? Are their other games that ease into the driving mechanics?

I've only glanced at some of the Raid playthroughs it already looks like content and ideas that should be in the part of the game everyone is going to play.

There are buttons to push and Vex gates to jump back and forth through to solve Tomb Raider style puzzles.

Give me a Phogoth we kill by knocking over a pillar on to him , or ripping off his arms with the chains to damage him first.

So the darkness is supposedly out just beyond or in the asteroid belt--or the rift --whatever... Shouldn't most of the fun space stuff in the skybox not be visible?

@kaos_cracker: we agree on the problem. I do think if instead of going back to the tower the end of a mission served up the next mission on the planet the flow would be better.

Can the ps4 and xb1 not handle it? I have a hard time believing Bungie designed it that way, played it and liked it. So why?

@mbradley1992: @kaos_cracker: @oursin_360: @bargainben: A handfull of you have pointed out that you think the design is the problem not the technical issues, but how many technical issues for last gen forced design decisions you don't like? The number of maps might be limited by the size of a 360 disk instead of a xb1 disk. With nothing but graphics to differentiate the two versions it should make us all ask what could they have done. To top it all off, in the ps3 quicklook the last gen loads were faster. They delayed destiny 6 months for what? Clearly not to get the story beats just right.

It feels like a lot of my issues--and other peoples--might stem from Destiny being held back by old hardware. Specifically the fact that the game feels like a ps3 game. Some games did these better on ps3, but they should all be better on ps4 or xb1.

An (incomplete) List:

  • Load times
  • Fireteam size
  • Communication
  • Loads between missions on same map
  • Map repetition (larger maps or more maps)
  • Number of randoms you run across in the world
  • Clan implementation

Little things, like being able to skip orbit loads, or be able to play through the story on a planet continuously would smooth out some of the jagged edges.

@postalrage They wont let the reviews hit until after launch because they want reviewers to experience Destiny with people in it.

Even though I would like a review before then, I hope it means we wont have a repeat of the SimCity launch.

Unfortunately, they don't link the support page to their twitter account. AskPlaystation confirmed a DDoS, but the support page says PSN is online.

@notnert427: Sony and Microsoft have been competing, usually to the benefit of consumers. That is why I can be excited about ID@XBox, PSNow, XB1 adding DNLA and USB support etc.... Locking down the second in a series of games is annoying to me. I might not think about it if Sony had done it, but I would agree with someone who made the point.

They could at least put it out on PC...

It wouldn't be anti-consumer if it were a new franchise. It is a weird way for a sequel for a game that "undersold" to be released....
