For the longest time, I refused to buy stuff digitally if I had the option, but in the end it proved much easier and efficient. I recently opted to get The Last of Us off of Psn. By doing this, I get it day one and can play it halfway through the download.
I think it's pretty telling that people are now considering switching to Pc's to escape the complexity of the new consoles. The whole point of consoles is to provide an easy way to play games without the extra work of a Pc, and now it's the other way around. I have a decent pc and have slowly but surely migrated from the consoles over the last year.
As far as the Wii U not having much worthwhile software, just wait a year or two and it will. No, it's not hypothetical and I'm not invested whatsoever in the Wii U, especially since I don't have one. Nintendo usually takes it's sweet damn time, but eventually they put out enough first party software to warrant buying their console. It's been somewhere between 2 or 3 years since the 3ds came out and it's finally accumulated an impressive library. Nintendo dropped the ball for the first few years of it's launch, but have made up for it in my opinion.
Pc gaming seems to be getting more and more attractive everyday. Unfortunately, the Ps4 will probably have similar policies to the Xbone, but I still haven't called it quits on the new consoles. I'll finish by say this, anyone who suggests switching to Pc right now, I have two words for you, "Pretty smart".
