    Yup. Friend has one, and he loves it. I hear they frequently add new game support, and consistently tweak and improve the forces for existing games over time. And, I mean come on: They have Valve's support. Not bad when the best in the biz lets you work on their games.

    Well it took a matter of hours to bypass the online authentication DRM entirely, so to crack the multiplayer by further bypassing Steam and bypassing "IWNet" and hosting private dedicated servers by utilizing spoofed LAN play? Soon.

    @HCARyan: It's a sad state of affairs though, because CoD wasn't a console series that happened to be on the PC, it was a PC series that eventually ended up becoming a hit on consoles. I still see CoD as a PC series, and the treatment of this PC version is unacceptable.

    Jeff, I'm surprised that someone who is held in such high regard as being an independent spirit who is immune to corporate meddling in journalism didn't mention how the PC version's multiplayer has been all but destroyed by Infinity Ward. Unless your assumption is that console shooters are better than online PC shooters, which unfortunately seems to be the case.

that's what it was like. I've been to like 4 or 5 midnight launches, and there's always hundreds of people at them, thus you don't even get the game until well after midnight, at which point the whole trip has been worthless.

The most entertaining ones have been the Halo midnight launches, with lots of free food and LAN shit going on.

The worst was Burning Crusade. Jesus christ the people waiting in line for WoW were the most pathetic faggots I've ever seen. Overweight forty-somethings talking about their stupid WoW characters for hours as the line slowly crawled, blowing cigarette smoke into my face, being gay.

Pretty sure I'll never do another one, it's too much hassle.
