I have a couple of video game shirts. I don't really wear them all that much anymore though. Can't help but feel a little immature when I do, which is probably stupid of me.

One of them is a blue T-shirt with Vault Boy using his thumb to measure a mushroom cloud. It's nice and comfy, but unfortunately I washed it in the wrong temperature and the print started cracking. Been thinking a lot about getting another Fallout T-shirt, a more discrete one. The New California Republic one on the Bethesda store is pretty cool. I like the one with the UAC logo from Doom too.

I also have a few promo T-shirts: Mass Effect 3 with the N7 logo, Rage with the knife boomerang thingy and a Skyrim logo shirt.

I'm looking forward to it. Despite the lacklustre story and dialogue, Dishonored 2 was my favorite game of 2016. Arkane has some of the best level designers in the business.

The Conversation - Pretty great movie by Francis Ford Coppola. He wrote it too.

@hassun: Love your avatar. I don't remember how long you've had it, but I only realized today, after I embedded a new thumbnail for Le Samouraï, what it's from.

The Conversation is my favorite Coppola movie. Gene Hackman's performance is perfect.

I can name two titles I had to abandon because I found them way too depressing. The first one is Arcanum, which I really tried to enjoy because of the great writing. However, the drab color palette and the string quartet soundtrack is too much for me. It makes me want to lie down in a dark room with a blanket over my head. The second one is Heavenly Sword. The moment I heard Nariko's voice-over I wanted to turn the game off.

I've only backed a few games on Kickstarter. Except for one, I backed all of them at "get the game" level ($15-20).

Amplitude, Chaos Reborn, Cosmic Star Heroine and Mercenary Kings have all come out. They all pretty much fall in the "not great, but still interesting enough" category for me. Chaos Reborn might be way better as a multiplayer game. Treachery in Beatdown City has been in development (on and off) for three years now and is moving forward, having just released the backer alpha. The developers have been honest about the whole process, so I'm confident the game will come out at some point.

So, haven't regretted backing anything, even if none of them have been instant classics so far.

I had this problem with Arkham Knight. There's just way, way too much unnecessary visual information: neon signs, weather effects and whatnot. Very few buildings are easily identifiable on a quick glance. My sense of direction is nearly perfect, both in games and in real life, but I still got lost several times trying to navigate Gotham. The amount of auditory information the game throws at you doesn't make it better. Sometimes it felt like the developers were testing whether my eyes or my ears would get exhausted first.

I think Arkham Knight is one of the most visually impressive games I've had the pleasure of playing, but I agree with your criticism regarding the architecture. Aside from being vaguely aware of which section of Gotham I was in, getting around just by sight was hopeless. Within each of the thirds of the map, there's just so little variance to work from, and you don't spend enough time looking at the buildings from any one angle to get a good grasp of where you are or where you should be going.

Oh yeah, it's certainly impressive. Rocksteady could easily have scaled back some of the effects and architectural detail, and still ended up with a gorgeous game. Arkham City had a bunch of samey-looking locations too, but that world was also much smaller and had better landmarks.

I'd buy it. Even a straight port would be fine to me.

Dark Souls 3 - Ashes of Ariandel
Some very pretty snow and ice in this DLC. The non-aggressive crow people of the Painted World are terrifying to look at. I like the two first phases of the Sister Friede and Father Ariandel boss fight quite a lot.
