So, I just got the latest issue of OXM (Official XBOX Magazine) and they have a review for Fable II! They give the game a 9.5! That's awesome. I have been looking forward to this game since I finished the first. The only real downside to the game, according to OXM, is the combat system. The game is out in less than a week. Stay tuned for my second installment in my "What I'm Playing Blog". I will definetely be writing about my experiences and thoughts about the game.
Also, on kind of a side note. They have a review for Portal: Still Alive and they don't even offer a release date. Where is this game? Is it on the marketplace right now? I want it! That also got a 9.0 but it mentions that it has all the levels from the Orange Box with a few new levels. I was not aware that this was going to be the original plus some, I thought that this was going to be ALL new. Anyway, I'm off to check the marketplace to see if it's there.
So, I decided that I am going to start my first blog ever. I guess it suits me writing about games that I am playing because that is what I love to do. So, this is my first blog post.
PURE - for the XBOX 360
So, I heard many people say that this game is a mix between Burnout and SSX but I must slightly disagree. I have played a good 3 or so hours of this game and have come to realize that this game is more like a mix between Motorstorm for the PS3 and SSX. The controls are what you would expect from an ATV racing game but the gameplay just doesn't stay interesting. The visuals are great. The enviroments are varied and some can seem quite large with many different pathways to take. There isn't very much to the gameplay. There are 3 different types of races. There is the standard race, the sprint race which is basically just like a standard race but shorter laps, and then the freestyle race where you win by racking up the most trick points before running out of gas. I am a fan of such games as Burnout but Pure does not compare. The races are boring and rather repetitive and the game seems to have little to no replayability.
It's tough to recommend Pure when there are much better games out there. I say if you are a fan of games like Burnout, play those games. This one just doesn't compare.
Thanks to whoever reads this. Stay tuned for more posts.
