So I pre-ordered all of the pc rpgs.

Old-school pc rpg and strategy-rpg games are coming back big time in 2013 and 2014. These are the types of games that i grew up on and cannot get enough of. All the old Fallout games, Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Planescape: Torment and to a lesser extent, Neverwinter Nights.

So a few days ago i saw this awesome Shadowrun: Returns gameplay video thatmade me remember how fun Shadowrun for the SNES was. Then they mentioned Jake Armitage and I was sold. I missed the original kickstarter but they still accept pre-orders on their site for 15$, which sounds like a steal.

Then i took a look at the Torment: Tides of Numenera's kickstarter page and for 45$ you get a digital copy of Torment AND Wasteland 2. So I got those two and then figured i might as well grab what seems like the biggest of those games, Project Eternity, which i missed the kickstarter for but they are also still taking pre-orders for, at 29$.

15$-30$ seems like a good deal for brand new pc rpgs. Project Eternity is a bit more on the expensive side but it looks like it might turn out as polished as a full price retail game. Now there is the risk that some of those games might not be that good or not even come out but with what has been shown so far, it doesn't seem to be a heavy risk. I will gladly take my chances with those studios.

Now all is left is to wait. The first game to come out is Shadowrun Returns in early summer 2013, then Wasteland 2 in late 2013, Project Eternity in spring 2014 and Torment in December 2014. That is pretty much all i am willing to put into kickstarter games, not that I have seen anything else of interest. Pretty excited to see what comes out of it, especially Shadowrun., that game cannot come out soon enough!
