Wait, was there ever any proof the kid had HIV? I've heard of children being born HIV free from HIV parents (mostly in a "it's a miracle", sentimental tone, though).

It was confirmed through laboratory tests after the drug treatment had been started.

If their was a cure for HIV, wouldnt all the people who have it be cured? I would think so............ I've read an article before where an adult got cured from it, but again, that would mean that they found a cure and people and I mean lots of people are still dying from it.

You should read the articles I linked dude. It'll make sense when you do. Or read my posts throughout this thread.

Alrighty, I'm not saying anyone else can't be cured of it. I'm saying it's not 100% accurate. Lots of people can and will still die of it like they do cancer and other deadly diseases.

All it said was one child was successfully treated. As far as I can see, that's 100% accurate, and still an important bit of progress. I don't think it says "Miracle Universal Cure For HIV Demonstrated!" and I don't think anyone is claiming that's what this means.

Alright I gotcha. I've heard of babies getting a cure for it so the mother doesnt pass it on to them so yeah thats different than the infected person theirself getting treated.

Maybe the articles aren't totally clear. There have been cases where a mother was HIV positive and didn't transfer the virus to the baby. But there had never been a case of a baby, being HIV positive because that baby got the virus from the mother, being cure. The latter happened here. The baby was infected and then was cured.

Ok. Question is. If the Mother cant pass it to the child, then how did this child in this article get the Virus? Also it seems as if the meds they have to cure aids in a baby wont work in adults at all. or even older children.

Serial Mom

8/10

Not the best and not my favorite, but it's a funny, crazy movie.
