@TPoppaPuff: Jesus christ. Your entire third paragraph is some bullshit generalization based off of basically nothing. Sounds like you have some problems with Steam that are a bit deeper than the $100. Don't vent this way, it's gross. I'm done talking with you.

And for the record, I fucking love steam sales.

It's a mix of both, for me. What it comes down to is an interesting world with a lot of goals. I've spent hundreds of hours in the elder scrolls series, and hundreds of days in World of Warcraft. If there's something more to do, in an interesting world, I'll probably do it. Consistent downloadable content helps, too, especially in both of the instances I mentioned.

@TPoppaPuff: Your entire second paragraph was patronizing.

And hey, guess what-- I'm not about to spend my money, or give an 'upvote' to a developer who couldn't care enough to pony up one hundred dollars to get their game in front of the 50 million users Steam currently has. If $100 is such an impossible number to accomplish on your own, as it apparently is, whip up a kick starter to get your game on greenlight. If you don't care enough, then don't put your game on greenlight. It's not your 'god given right', stop acting so entitled.

I know it sounds like I'm being a prick, but that just goes to show how sheltered your life really is.

You sound like a prick because you're being one. There are countless ways you could've made the point you just did, but instead of any of those routes, you chose to be condescending/patronizing.

Back to the point. If you have a game that has a chance of getting the monumental amount of votes from the community that is required to 'win' greenlight, then coming across 100 dollars shouldn't really be an issue. Collect 25 dollars from each of your 4 man development team, talk to your community of people that've been following your game. Work, I don't know, one overtime shift.

It's a paltry sum of money that

A) Goes to charity.

B) Is a paltry sum. (I'm 17 and work minimum wage. I just did an 8 hour shift on labour day and made double that.

C) Keeps the riff raff out-- look at all of the stores you mentioned. Full of crap.

Nothing wrong with it, really. You know, objectively.

Mate, read the fucking article, it's highly treatable, he'll more than likely be alright.

Best of wishes to you, Greg.

Explain your choices people...

ANYWAYS.

It would have to Space Station Silicon Valley. Holy god was this game fantastic. You played as a little spider who could 'posess' any animal he came across, and they each had special abilities. The animals would range from a dog who could scare sheep, to a an elephant who could spit water, to a ROCKET DOG WHO COULD SHOOT ROCKETS. Oh, and guess who made it ? Rockstar North.

Giant Bomb's community during Leigh Anderson is pretty good.
