@retrogimp: Finally found an opportunity to listen to the soundtrack.. while I file away emails on a Friday afternoon! I'm listening to "Full Perfect Dark OST" uploaded by F4m1LyGuy10 on Youtube.
The first couple tracks were ok, the first one to hit for me was "5. dataDyne Central: Investigation", especially towards the end. The soundtrack is definitely most instrumental than I remember 007 being, and I'm really liking that. "9. G5 Building: Reconnaissance" was like a futuristic 007 song, with a great finish, definitely liked this one. "10. Area 51: Infiltration" the start is giving me DK64 vibes, but the finish is intense and awesome. In the finish to all 3 Area 51 tracks is great. Area 51 tracks are as far as I got this afternoon.
I'd say overall, the soundtrack is pretty good, with a some real bangers, but doesn't hit the same way without the nostalgia. I probably wouldn't revisit the soundtrack again.
That was a great read. I was a huge 007 fan, like every other kid with a N64, but never played PD. Always heard it was good, now I wish I had played it.
I think I'll check out the soundtrack tomorrow while I'm working. Wonder if it'll hit as well without the nostalgia factor?
I remember AoE 3 being BAD. I played hundreds of hours of AoE 2 offline and online, and still play occasionally with friends. I was very excited for AoE 3 when it came out.. and BOY was I disappointed. It changed a lot from AoE 2 and I wasn't interested in all of the changes, I bounced off it pretty quick.
As cool as this sounds.. wouldn't you get sick sitting in a chair at home and "seeing" as you flip through the air as batman in game? Batman does some huge jumps/flips in the game.
