You make some valid points. I'll have to disagree with the "..dead as you know it..." theory. The markets, (Gaming, Electronics, Movies etc.) have always tried to shove "new, improved, better than before.." blah blah blah, at us forever. The fact is we ,(consumers), have the final say by what we will continue to purchase. They can talk all they want about the next new gimmick, (a few might be cool). If their new idea, or anything, sucks as bad as everyone thinks it will then eventually, they won't sell anything! Games cost too much to make now? Absolutely! Not many mega-budget games are worth a damn anymore. The consumer will slowly take care of that crap too. I believe gamers don't buy "crap-fad" junk. It all gets purchased as B-Day, Xmas gifts. (or by people that just suck at buying things for others!)

Great topic! Funny, I just went on a (pointless, but very satisfying) small rampage against a few of the same smart-asses in the college. "Wha da hell did ya say to me man?" Boom! Slash-Smash! Bang! I then reloaded the save after everyone attacked/killed me and felt a little better. Worth it.

p.s. thanks for spoilers warning

Finished. Question about another type of gamer (hardcore, casual, and...) was different. Hmmm..., tough one.

Good luck.

Modern Warfare 3. My brother was at my house a couple days and brought it with him. My son and I were saving up for Arkham City but after a few hours with MW3, and my brother leaving, we bolted and bought it. All right game, but nothing new. We could have rented it and been fine. My son did not learn anything about patience from this.
