this blog was intended as a place to keep quality footage of Oni in one easy place. It's convenient that I don't need to navigate multiple youtube pages, stream links, or fighting game forums. It is not intended as a guide, it's more of a showcase, or reference. I realized other people might benefit and/or be interested in seeing these videos, as finding quality combo videos and matches is hard unless you visit fighting game sites with any sort of regularity, so I also posted this blog here on the SF forums so any Giant Bombers also interested in Oni can benefit from the videos.
Here is some post release info on Oni. It gives some developer thoughts about Oni as well as taking a look at a few of his hitboxs, its short so I would recommend giving it a look.
Basic Tactics
This video shows off some basic info from Oni. Notable normals, special moves, and differences from akuma. one particularly interesing fact is Oni's standing heavy punch cancels fireballs.
The only thing i don't like about Oni and Evil Ryu is that they fucking glow so much. I find color 11 and 12 on characters to be distracting but this is just going to be crazy.

Yeah, can't wait to jump in and bait a SRK then Demon that shit, it looks like it's got a huge grab hitbox on it so it shouldn't be too picky where it grabs like T.Hawk's bullshit Ultra 2. I wonder if you can cancel the dash into his Air Fireball Ultra. That's would be hot too.
What I want to know about Oni is.. Is he Akuma turned God, or Goutetsu back from the grave to stop Evil Ryu? Oni looks way way more powerful than anything that's come before in the SF fiction, which kinda makes it weird when you see him played and balanced for online play. You expect him to be able to just 1hit K.O anybody yet Sakura's fireball probably does more damage than his after the balancing lol.
In semi-related news Evil Ryu's alt costume is LOL material. What's up with that crazy hair. Does going all evil make your hair grow longer? Is that why all death metal lovers get long hair?
