My Top 10 Games of 2010

Little late on this, but oh well.

List items

  • I'll be the first to admit, I'm a big fan of sandbox games, this one takes the cake for my favorite game of the year, the size of the map is so overwhelming, and the sheer fun and the depth of things you can do leaves no doubt for my favorite game of the year.

  • Mass Effect 1 is a very good game, Mass Effect 2, everything is better and perfected, the amount of story the developers put into every single character, the way you get attached to each character, the dialogue options, the refined classes, and I haven't even mentioned the combat yet, this was an easy pick for my number two game.

  • This game could be summed up with "Grand Theft Auto on a horse" but there is so much more to it than that, the story is great, the characters are great, the controls feel smooth, and I love the shooting.

  • Before this game came out, I totally thought the singleplayer was just going to be average and it was going to be a multiplayer focused game, I was SIX hours into the game until I finally got to the assassin's guild part, and then the fun really started.

  • Yeah, if you look hard enough, Minecraft didn't come out this year, and it still technically isn't out, but this is one of those rare fun indie games that is ten times better playing with your friends, fighting off zombies and building castles. It had to be on my list.

  • Let me just go on the record saying that I fucking love Burnout Paradise. Criterion games did so well with this game, not only does it look extremely good, but being a cop and doing takedowns and using EMP and spike strips feels so great.

  • Yeah... This game has technical issues, it was pretty much inevitable. I had so much fun with this game though, it has it's flaws, but the ideas and different things they did with this game from FO3 makes it better than FO3.

  • To some people, this game may be overrated, but I honestly had a ton of fun with this, I haven't played many Splinter Cell games before, and the ones I have, I didn't play for long, but this game is just so enjoyable and fun.

  • Before this game, I haven't tried any other Civilization game, I knew what the Civilization games were, just never tried them, the first minute I entered the game, I loved it, it's like the exact opposite of Starcraft 2, which is fine. Oh, and Gandhi is a dick.

  • I do agree it was a little disappointing, and it could have been a lot better, but the majority of the game was like Fable 2, and while that may be a bad thing to some people, it was awesome for me, I thoroughly enjoyed it and it just had to be number ten on my list.
