They're both excellent, but Galaxy 2 is superior in every way. Easily the best 3D platformer I've ever played.
On the Zelda note, I played TP at launch and played it out of more of a sense of duty than anything. Didn't really do anything for me. Skyward Sword I only picked up recently for my Wii U, and I didn't even reach the first proper dungeon before my interest fizzled out. I think that's more of a statement of my feeling jaded with the formula, rather than a mark against the game itself, though.
Shenmue II on the Dreamcast, with the original Japanese voice acting. The scope of that game (in it's time) was absolutely mind blowing to me. I know it isn't a high score game or anything, and I don't wish to derail the topic, but just experiencing that game was one massive 'great moment' for me.
I've played a lot of games over the years, and nothing has knocked my socks off in the way that game did, before or since.
@commandergermanshepard: Gosh! Honestly though, I dont reckon that either of the Wii Zelda games make for a good first Zelda game.
Handily enough, Wind Waker HD is coming in the not too distant future. I would absolutely recommend that. I totally adored the GameCube version. In spite of some of it's failings. It's probably my personal favourite Zelda game. I just found it incredibly, incredibly special.
@commandergermanshepard: Both Galaxy games are totally great. Pick either and you can't go far wrong.
I haven't actually played Skyward Sword (I'd gone cold on Wii by that point) so I can't say for certain between the two. Twilight Princess isn't a bad game, but I found it to be a slightly underwhelming Zelda game.
Shame you dont like Monster Hunter really. I took a punt on it (having never played or really looked into the previous games) and had a blast for at least 150 hours. It's got a slow start, but the multiplayer mode can be a lot of fun.
For me, Xbox ONE is a complete non-starter, irrespective of whatever games it may or may not have. The reason starts and ends with consumers rights, and Microsoft's clear disdain for them. It is not a PC, and therefore can never be Steam. It is, I therefore conclude, a bag of shit.
