I'm probably just a horrible person, but I really don't give two shits about gun companies or if EA is involved with them, I doubt that EA being linked to gun companies would make the world any amount more dangerous, and I doubt gun companies are really conspiring to give guns to our kids so they can kill each other. So in the end, if Battlefield 4 looks cool, I'll play it, I really liked and still like Battlefield 3, and hell even if the new Metal of Honor looks cool I'll play it. I was never really one to care about this side stuff, I just want to play cool new games.

What's so different about real guns appearing in games compared to, say, real cars?

By paying for the license to use real gun models in their games, developers are effectively funding weapons manufacturers.

I don't see the problem, even if citizen of a country couldn't privately own guns the gun manufacturers would still be around to make money off the governments of the world, so who cares if they make money of video games?

I just want people to know, I'v seen the NRA be a great thing on a local scale, that's why I pay my dues. I'v seen the NRA promote sport shooting in ways that helped kids stay out of trouble, helped kids understand responsibility and respect the power a firearm has. I think they fuck up their whole shit when they talk about shooting out side of a sport setting. The NRA started as a sport shooting and gun safety promoting organisation and it should stay that way. In my opinion anyway.

I think this thread is great, everyone is being a dock to eachother, but in a warm hearted way. This is the true holiday spirit.

Oh yeah, fucking sam and max hits the road was not funny, and there are zero good characters in gta sa.

@Animasta: when I read it I laughed out loud, because my friends and I use "radical", "rad", and the hand sign and upwards of about 10 to 20 times a day.

Hope more people high up in the industry see this and decide to final make a move to help fix this issue that don't exist anymore in other fields. Hopeful like other sciences and computer fields that have had drastic increases in female participation the gaming industry will start feeling that trend. Talent doesn't relay on your gender and people need to work hard remembering that and not simply give women hard time cause that's how it's always been in the industry.

I don't know if I would say sexism doesn't exist in other fields, I'm very sure its exists in construction, I work construction and I know for a fact women would not be welcomed into the profession by a lot of people in that industry just by the way they talk about them.

Back to the point of the article. Sexism in the game industry seems like a really strange topic that keeps coming up. The game industry is a male dominated industry. It build on the backs of mostly men that is a fact whether or not people like it. This leads to the majority sex having less empathy or grace when dealing with the minority sex. This is even true in child care, kindergarten teaching, and stay-at-home parenting which are all female dominated professions. So I guess what I'm saying is, the game industry is a transforming industry its going to be tough for the first women who penetrate the business, but as more women join in, it will even out just like those industries that are gender integrated now.

It doesn't matter whether or not I "believe" in it, if it's factual, it's factual. Which it is. Just like gravity, plate tectonics, the big bang theory, evolution, the theory of relativity, etc.

However, news outlets have done some exaggeration or downplaying of global warming, that's definitely true. To me, even if it's not happening at all, we should still find better fuel sources and ways to keep our planet healthy, just in case.

I like to fancy myself a Constructivist epistemologist, so I would argue that The big bang theory, evolution, or the theory of relativity are not "factual" but then again I would argue that anything is "factual". On topic, I agree climate change is happening, I just would like to say, I think science is far form the end all be all in the world, it still relies on fundamentalism, and as such requires faith just like any other religion, now I profess to having some faith in science as well, but just think for a second before we consider science a solid "Fact" because if you break it down, its not.
