Not sure if it is still there but blizzard was advertising a deal: $5 for Regular, $5 for The Burning Crusade, and $10 for The Wrath of the Lich King.
Seems like the way to go if you are just starting.  Let me see if I can find it.

Edit: nvm seems the deal is over.

@Metal_Gear_Sunny:  I used to use that wallpaper for a long time, good times, good times

I just recently changed by background to this- the final line from the greatest comic strip ever

The Prince of Persia: Sands of Time series features time-manip with being able to rewind, slow enemies and puzzle mechanics, quickly spurt from enemy to enemy, and some actual time travel in Warrior Within.

Only one I haven't played was Chaos Theory.  Guess I should get on that.  I remember seeing the original at a friends house and thinking that it was too slow paced and more of a exercise in patience while you waited for passing guards to get right where you wanted them, which was true for a good deal of the first game.  I eventually picked up the game cheap for the gamecube and found myself enjoying it quite a bit especially the missions where you could go balls to the wall and kill everyone, since they were rare in the first games.  Double Agent really did seem to be a low point in the single player department but it's multiplayer was fun once you figured it out.  My roommate and I would quote the lines from the beginning of the matches rather often "your mission is to infiltrate the enemy compound and extract the information from the terminals" or "The green terminal is under attack!".  Conviction was definitely a change where you almost never had to be stealthy if you had a good trigger finger and precision but also a rather enjoyable co-op and multiplayer.

" How does a thread like this go this long with no mention of Manos:  The Hands of Fate? "
Agreed.  This is only watchable in the MST3k version.

Hopefully some old favorites will return, like scrab cakes and paramite pies.  Oh, how I've missed your delicious goodness.

How many more nuclear plants would the world have?  And more importantly where would the level in Modern Warfare take place instead?

Well it is a flying mount and a non-flying mount from what I've seen (which makes perfect sense for something that costs $25).  I'd pay $3 for it.

Here we take the first stab at creating a working functioning blog sur the internet.  It'll be great!  What will be discussed?  Who knows.  Where is it all going?  I can't tell you?  How will we get there?  I haven't decided yet.  But it seems that it will be chalked full of references I hope you all get.

FFXIII sports some of the most ridiculous names for characters I have seen in a long time.  As such my friends and I have decided to come up with better names for each character which we feel better fit the attitude and look of the character:
Lightning-->"Lightning" The "main character" if there is one.  Her name was surprisingly hard to change because it just seems to fit.  So we remained calling her Lightning with the occasional "Katie Holmes" thrown in to see how it fit.  Not very well unfortunately.  If you've got a good one post it!
Sazh-->"Shaft"  Who's the black private dick/ That's a sex machine to all the chicks?/ SHAFT!/ Ya damn right!    The female chocobos want him and the male chocobos want to be him.  The afro and the guns don't hurt either.
Snow-->"Clay"  This just popped into my head when I first saw him.  Also how can snow play the tank role?  It's so easy to crush and melt and bend to your will.  Clay, on the otherhand, can take a pummeling and dish it back out.
Hope-->"Tad"  Really?  What kind of a name is Hope?  He is clearly from the Australian outback with a boomerang that FOLDS IN HALF!  When will he learn?  Don't fold boomerangs in two.  But if there's one thing he knows how to do it's rage-out.  Honestly, just watch him cast spells and you' ll see what I mean.  Thus he was affectionately called "Tadpole" and is still referred to as such in bouts of anger but this was shortened to "Tad" to those that know him well.
Vanille-->"Coco 'Shoopuf' Chanel"  Just feels right for someone that can't make up their mind about which accent they want to use.
Fang-->"Kimahri"  Cause nobody cares about either of them and you hate it when you have to use them.  As well they look similar and both use the same weapons.  Damn Kimahri...

Did you refer to the characters by any other names?  List 'em!
