I liked that you had 2022 as an option. Ever since seeing the Japanese bid for the 2022 FIFA World Cup video, 2022 has been the defining year of "the future" for me. If you haven't seen it yet you should really check it out. Apparently Japan says they can accomplish AR lenses that pull up info about everything, Bluetooth looking automatic translators for your ears, holographic broadcasting of events, and holographic interactive A.I. personalities by the year 2022.

" You know what's funny?  The other day I opened up a DVD I bought on clearance, and in it was an ad for HD-DVDs stating something like "YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE FULL POTENTIAL OF HD-DVD... UNTIL NOW"  Or something like that, then "EXPERIENCE THE LOOK AND SOUND OF PERFECT"  It made me chuckle. "
I wish I still had that video of the six guys breakdancing. If there's a better way of demonstrating the benefits of increased storage I'm yet to see it.  "

Just want to say that Microsoft is most likely NOT doing this for the extra 1GB of space. That little 1GB is meaningless to them although it could be a positive side effect or something to tell the public when they are asked why they are doing it.

"...incorporate a new security standard that will make the discs harder to duplicate on consumer-grade DVD burners."

THIS is why they are doing it. Another attempt at blocking users from using flashed DVD firmware to run burned games. At least that's how I see it. And even if it works it wont stop 360 piracy completely because, for systems that are exploitable, there is always the JTAG mod that allows people to play games right off the hard drive.

I have actually heard Metro 2033 mentioned a couple of times in other settings. And somehow I find myself doubting Crysis 2. Having it be on consoles too is just unnerving to me and I don't think that the graphical detail will take the same jump that the original took on the PC back in 2008.

I've been in the process of building a new rig and everytime anyone wants to give me real world evidence of a component's performance, they reference how well it can run Crysis... It's going on 3 years since that game's release and I've been thinking... is there a "new crysis" that we should be benchmarking performance against? There has to be something out there that is more intensive on our hardware with a higher level of detail than a three year old game, right? Thoughts?
