So are we to assume the host for the site will eventually be moved off planet? You know, since the sun will go all Red Giant and destroy the Earth in 7.6 billion years. Still another 11.6 billion years of image generation to go!
Now I'm even more excited about PAX. Can't wait to try out the Oculus for myself. Not to mention it will be with the game I'm most interested in for the device. This will most likely be the Crystal Cove prototype that Oculus has been showing around, right? Getting to have my first experience the Rift on the upgraded version should be awesome!
Working perfectly here on Win7. Just extracted and double clicked the .jar and Jeff yelled at me. Pretty awesome stuff. I'll have to add it to my startup folder.
I think this guy is also underestimating the insane amount of advertising power that you get from being put on the front page of Steam. There are so many games I have bought and enjoyed, that I would never have known existed, simply because they ended up being pulled to the front page of Steam by a sale.
@laserguy: Last year, Seattle 4 day passes sold out in 10 minutes. All the single day passes were gone within 6 hours. It's worse then PAX East. Good luck, my friend.
They went on sale closer to 12:05 EST. I clicked the think about 5 seconds after it was posted, got into the queue, and completed my transaction by about 12:10. We have a group of 6 this year and you could only buy 5 passes at a time so a friend got the other pass the same way I did. I knew there would be a mad dash for tickets which is why I had twitter text notifications turned on. You were just a bit too late unfortunately. I do agree they need to move the convention though. That show floor is shoulder to shoulder all day long at this point.
they still cant make a decent current gen version of the game, because most of their effort is on next gen.
Which I would have preferred, to be honest. Anyway, after a bit of research it seems that people have already found files relating to next gen and PC versions of the game when they tore apart the 360 version and looked into the iFruit app assets. So they obviously have been working on ports mid development like I said they could have. Maybe I'll wait around and see what comes of this. Whatever the case, it seems their strategy of release the inferior version first and get lots of money, then try to score double dipping off of suckers like me will probably work.
