Where do you typically find more replay value in, SP or MP games?

Simple question.

Not everyone goes around dropping $60.00+ on video games (I damn sure don't). However, given the games that you do play/prefer where do you personally find more replay value in, single player oriented games or multiplayer oriented games? Perhaps you prefer multiplayer games but believe single player games have more replay value or vice versa. Examples welcomed.

Good open worlds. I can stop playing Just Cause 2 or Skyrim for a few months, then jump back in and not miss a beat because open worlds are very good for that sort of play, and to be honest open worlds are where I've spent the most time in the past few years. I still think linear games are the best for delivering a good narrative but I usually beat those games and then move on.

I like multiplayer but I tend to not get horribly deep into it. I'll never be in a Counter Strike competition or something like that

I find more value in more singleplayer experiences.

For example: I love Counter-Strike, but I've already put more time into Mark of the Ninja, and I just barely started the New Game +. As long as the singleplayer experience isn't shallow, like my singleplayer Borderlands playthrough, then I usually play through each of my singleplayer games at least twice (but usually way more).

This, to the letter.

Depends on the game really. Multiplayer games that i enjoy usually outlast SP. In SP games I complete the story and am usually finished, there are exceptions like Bastion which I am on my fifth play-through. The ability for co-op or split-screen greatly increases my time spent in MP games.

As for open world games, I can usually play them for about 40 hours before i start getting bored with the base mechanics, it doesn't matter how much content there is.

MP, but I rarely enjoy the MP of a game and I only get into 1-2 of them at a time.

Multiplayer, if you give me a Fifa or Call of Duty I can play that game for 12 months, but give me a single player game and I'll be finished and have moved on within a few weeks.

When I think back to the games that have really stuck with me over the years, I'd say the multiplayer ones stand out stronger. From the original Smash Bros and Goldeneye, to the Battlefield series and (good) MMOs, that's where the majority of my playing time lies. I still play plenty of SP games, but every time I reach the end I'll say, "Well, that was fun. Back to whatever online game I usually play." Singleplayer experiences are enjoyable, but far more transitory and forgettable than good multiplayer action.

I seem to put more time into multiplayer games when the game reaches critical mass among my friends, like MW 1, MW2, CS and Battlefield 1942 back in the day. however MW 2 was the last time that happened, and it didn't stick as long we only played regularly for a few months.

As less friends have time for gaming due to work/kids Im finding open world and RPG's are becoming my replay games. Especially Skyrim and SR3, however i'd say i would prefer to play some NEW open world games than just going back to those two.

It really depends on the game.

It's a mix of both, for me. What it comes down to is an interesting world with a lot of goals. I've spent hundreds of hours in the elder scrolls series, and hundreds of days in World of Warcraft. If there's something more to do, in an interesting world, I'll probably do it. Consistent downloadable content helps, too, especially in both of the instances I mentioned.

Replay value? I don't really multiplayer but in single player, it's usually RPGs with multiple ways to play i.e. character classes. For example, I played Mass Effect 2 five and a half times because of all the classes (the half because I found the soldier incredibly boring and quit).
