Got to agree, Capcom vs. SNK 3 is a must and it pisses me off they still haven't considered it (other than a april fools joke smh). SNKP is pretty burnt from what I remember, they're gaming division is virtually dead for the most part and moved to pachinko which means no new Metal Slug or Fatal Fury from where I stand. I think they could bolster their ranks with releasing more collections of their games digitally like SEGA is doing.

I won't rag too much though, hopefully we at least get a KOFXIV because XIII was class.

They serve a purpose of delivering some opinions when totaled together with other reviews (keeping in mind that it's all subjective). The problem with this are the scores (i.e. no generally accepted scale) plus player expectations (a big one).

Ever see a game get a 6/10 or a 7/10? According to a certain demo of gamers, this translates to 1/10 or 2/10. Why is it that this gen, damn near every publicized game gets a 8/10+ or an equivalent of that scale? It really feels like 8/10 represents an average and everything below that is garbage which isn't true even a 6/10 is still not a bad game. However, again it's subjective I guess which renders it useless as a base, which is why it should be considered more a suggestion IF people want to use it. Personally, I could care less all of my favorite games got shat on by reviewers so to each their own.

It's mainly a cultural shift. I remember back in the day my neighborhood was jam packed with kids going door to door and houses were littered with decorations; for the past couple of years it's been virtually nothing. So yeah it's dying but so is every other holiday, our culture just don't care about that kind of stuff anymore.

AC3: Liberation is that knock, I really enjoyed playing it for the limited time I had with it. A couple of noticable bugs I'll give you that (and I'm" the type of gamer who doesn't care about that stuff) but overall the experience for my time with it was really enjoyable.

Well, the last game that I got addicted to was probably Dynasty Warriors 7, at least that's the most recent game that I've logged a shit ton of hours into so I would guess that counts. As far as this gen is concerned, can't really say that there were many (if any) particular games that I've found "addicting" on home consoles.

If I had to guess some games that I was addicted to it would have probably been:

  • Phantasy Star Online (4000+ hours accrued)
  • Final Fantasy XII (120+ hours accrued, not counting replays)
  • Castlevania: SotN (2000+ hours accrued)
  • Capcom vs. SNK 2 (300+ hours accrued)
  • WWE Smackdown: Know Your Role & Shut Your Mouth (1000+ hours accrued combined)

Nah, at least it wouldn't be for me. I'm" not even a fan of first person games in general (except racing games) so it definitely wouldn't get me excited to experience the presumable next stage in that. Each have their advantages and I guess like anything it all depends on how the developer approach and handle it; as for wide-scale adoption, nope couldn't see it.

Well that's good, still rough around the edges but at least Nintendo is taking initiative in accommodating their consumers through digital distribution. Not getting a Wii U at launch because of Christmas shopping but I hope that when I do nab one, they have similar incentives or a more refined system for their digital media.

If you don't like what he said, it's very simple to ignore him. I don't think it makes much sense to leave an entire community because someone said something you don't like or agree with. I don't care for Tom myself but whatever it's his paycheck.

They should've been marketing the device over the past year. The entire launch of the Vita has been one big botch; takes talent to bury an amazing piece of hardware. At launch; No PSOne compatibility, expensive memory cards, a stacked launch lineup but nothing that appeal to Japanese tastes, etc. I don't buy what they're saying if they wanted the Vita to succeed they would've got themselves in gear like Nintendo did with the 3DS. Sony can be arrogant at times.

It has games, it's just getting people to know the device exists. America hates gaming handhelds for some reason so we're a lost cause, go for Japan and Europe and build from there. Cultivate killer apps, convince Japanese devs to invest in the Vita and slowly fade out the PSP in Japan, money hats, bundles, the works.
