Just a heads-up the shield actually blocks attacks. I don't know why it was so surprising to me, I didn't find out for probably ten shield runs.but the shield fully blocks attacks.
Thought I'd see what others are feeling about this album. I really loved Memories of Tokyo-To and was pretty excited about this album when it was announced.
I've given it a listen though now and it's enjoyable but it's not hitting quite the same way. The beats seem generally more syncopated and much busier which can be a bit tiring to listen to for 3+ minutes. Memories seemed generally funkier where Sounds is a more "present" and energetic.
24 Hour Party People and Say Somethin were standouts on Memories, two songs with slick chill beats backed by 2Mello's intricate rapping. Sounds doesn't have any songs that have the same feeling; the closest it comes is with Rapid Crew Ft. TV-MA or Pull Up, both of which are bursting with energy.
On the whole it was a good listen, but not something that seems it'll find a way into my regular rotation.
This is that good shit! Really excited for this. I'm not really sure what the name is going for (hot take - taking something out? Or down? But it seems positive so I don't know why that association is made) but I love video essays, especially about things that are underappreciated or examined from a different point of view. YouTube has been my go-to for this over the years so I'm happy to see Giant Bomb giving it another home.
I hope it fixes the issue where Xbox Game Services starts twice on boot and stops me from being able to click on any desktop icons until I go into Task Manager and close BOTH services, after which all of the icons on my desktop blink and return to normal and then everything works perfectly well.
Hard to want to commit $500-$600 when I'm worried Steam won't support this for that long. I got a Steam Link for ultra-cheap and it never felt like that was a big deal for Valve.
If it has a nice launch and does alright I'll feel a bit more confident but until then I worry no matter how good the hardware is Valve won't get behind it properly.
There's nothing to support, unless I'm mistaken. It's just a PC in a Switch form factor. You buy it and then can go on Steam and play games through their Proton layer, or wipe it and install Win10 and play whatever you want.
@alistercat: Thanks. I don't plan on getting game pass, but I'll take a look again. But does it get grindy towards the end?
Yes.
As someone who doesn't enjoy turn-based combat, unless they make significant changes to their systems, I'm finished with Yakuza. Love the new protagonists and the party mechanics are good, but I played LAD for 90 hours and only about 40 of them were actively engaging. The combat is extremely repetitive and often very buggy and awkward.
From my limited understanding, a lot of Japanese talent agencies can be really weird about their control over use of their talent's likenesses. It's apparently not uncommon for magazine and website articles to include a grayed out silhouette of a particular celebrity because the agency doesn't want them showing up there. Johnny's is supposed to be one of the worst offenders of this.
There are pictures of the Judgment launch party with Kimura grayed out. It's fucking insane.
Though on reading some discourse, it seems Kimura has been popular enough to bend the rules of the agency - apparently he was allowed to be publicly married and with children where many boy-band stars are not. I'm hoping he has enough pull to get passed this snafu, because I do enjoy Yagami and his crew quite a lot, and I think a recast would cast a weird shadow over everything unless they bridge it with DLC before the next game.
No. Music is poetry and poetry doesn't need to rhyme. There are plenty of literary devices which you'll pick up on subconsciously that aren't outright rhyming, and they're just as valid.
