Great atmosphere. Great lighting and Art direction.

I have two concerns

  1. The choices in the demo mission seemed to add up to a zero sum. They chose to contact the Corp. Agent. They got the cred chip. They talked there way in, but everything went to shit and it led to them killing everyone and an underwhelming boss fight. But if they had just gone loud and fought their way in, they would have had to kill everyone and had a mediocre boss fight anyway. I don't see where the choice really mattered all that much.
  2. I want to like this game so much, but so much of it scream Deus Ex: Human Revolution. This narrated video demo even seems remarkably like the ones they released leading up to Human Revolution. I didn't care for that game, so it makes me a little nervous.

Believe it or not I think I was actually thinking of both. I combined them in my head.

It was from at least 5 years ago. I think it might've been Brad and Vinny or Ryan and Vinny? It was a Steam game that was basically an Uncharted/Tomb Raider inspired game about that I believe took place in a pyramid or tomb, possibly first person. Very european.

Ring any bells?

I'd say the thing I took away from my time with it. You have to be willing to accept that it's much more MMO than it is an Elder Scrolls game. The entire philosophy of the combat, looting, character creation and questing feels more Wow the Skyrim. There are lots of trappings of Skyrim style menus, first person, etc. But it largely feels like window dressing to me.

They were easier to implement than ground based alien NPCs...

As much as this game wants to be space Minecraft... They did not take the hint on interesting and memorable enemies...

@the_ruiner: Oh, if you get stuck like that again, use the terrain manipulator if you want a shortcut out. It can scale way bigger and doesn't take an arm and a leg to recharge.

I didn't have it at the time.

If only there were creatures down there like in Minecraft...

Well, Unless they changed it, I clearly remember finding a bunch of hostile creatures is caves sometimes, before the multitude of updates, it's just not every cave.

I mean like actual enemy types like the new "monstrosities". The standard animals are just not even remotely threatening.

If they could add hostile outposts to some planets that'd be nice too. Maybe someday.
