TheHT: E3 2011 Most Anticipated Games

List items

  • Apparition Altair and grandpa Ezio are too bad ass for words.

  • Came outta nowhere. Tell me there's an open world game set in an alien noir environment where you're a bounty hunter capable of vertical mobility Assasin's Creed style and I'm all over it. Tell me it's the sequel to Prey and I'd be confused, but still all over it.

  • Another suprise for me. I don't have much history with the Tomb Raider franchise. I played a demo or two on the PS1 but I understand the popularity of the old games and the subsequent decline and the rise in quality and just straight up decline in popularity. But this new reboot, as much as it pains me to praise a reboot, looks very promising.

  • Hey guys, they fixed Oblivion and added some cool stuff to it. FUCK YEAH THEY DID.

  • One of the two (maybe two) genuine surprises at E3 2011, Far Cry 3 looks fantastic. From the obviously out of his mind monologue deliverer to the brutal close combat and what looks to be an open area combat style, Far Cry 3 looks to be hella fun. Not to mention the game just looks gorgeous.

  • OK, so having only played Halo 1 and 2 on the PC and still being a bit bummed that PC gamers never got to finish the fight it might seem a bit odd to think that I was excited by the second genuine surprise at this years E3 (sure it was leaked, but the prospect of Halo 4 sounded ridiculous). But god-damn if the Halo games don't have some hype-ass-building teasers. Besides that though I'm curious to see what 343 has mustered up to bring the Chief out of his nap.

  • FORTY-FUCKING-SEVEN IS BACK. WHY ISN'T THIS HIGHER UP ON MY LIST?! I LOVE THESE GAMESSESSZZSSZZZSZ.

    ...sorry.

  • Oh Deus Ex. You were my favourite franchise, until I realized that loving 1/2 of a two game franchise hardly constitutes a favourite franchise. None-the-less, Human Revolution was touted as a true Deus Ex sequel, but some of the stuff I've heard coming out of E3 gives that honour to Prey 2 and makes this out to be, well, not that great. :(

  • YOU CAN PLAY AS CATWOMAN.

  • I'm verrrry slooowwwly getting through Bioshock ATM (along with The Witcher, Red Faction Guerrilla, Gemini Rue, Heavy Rain, Monkey Island, and the just-started umpteenth playthough of Oblivion, ugh) but the more I hear and see of Infinite the more I'm spurred into a drop all and give yourself to Bioshock attitude. Not only does the world look gorgeous, that lady friend you roll with and her interactin with the world and that Songbird, and your own interaction with the world and the world, and the interaction... it just looks really really intriguing. Sorry Uncharted 3, but of course you're gonna be fucking amazing, so you don't make the list.
