I spent a long time writing a quite large bit about roller coaster tycoon 1.
My submission got approved for 97 points or something. I was going to add more onto my article later. And now i find that my stuff has been taken away by someone who has wrote two or three lines? It isnt like i copied straight from wikipedia. I wrote all that stuff myself.
I want to know how to find out the reason for this. Why was his 3 lines better than my entire article? Has anyone else had this problem?

Submissions - WHY???
Yeah, always save your shit.
But seriously, this is what could happen a lot after people get to 1000 points. :(
"Shotaro said:Yeah, I don't mind editing. That's what wiki's are all about. But scraping an entire well written article for a few sentences is just silly."But then that defeats the point of the whole 1,000 points no mod systemThings being re-written constantly defeats the purpose of actually putting work into submissions.

People just need to learn a little self control. Sure getting to 1000 points is an admirable achievement, but your views aren't infalliable. Yeah that sucks dude, I can see this happening a lot more, all I can say, is back your stuff up. If you know what you wrote was better, alert a mod and send them what you wrote. They are usually pretty good about keeping things fair.
Someone has put more detail into the article now. Which is fair enough but my article was still more detailed as it looks now.
This Wiki system is buggy. When I was making a page about Reala, it appears that somebody already made a page, but I was accepted anyweay, and then it changed into an anime character. What's wrong with this picture?
It's a problem where people will just edit an article just so their version gets on the page instead of someone elses. However the only solution we have for this at the moment is back up every submission you send us, text editors such as notepad are perfect, so you can resubmit an article should something like this or another problem occur.
"This is why i refuse to submit anything. :)

Not even images? Speaking of images, every games gallery is pretty fucked up. :X
The problem is, you just need to google a lot of pictures without a watermark and post them. Posting screenshots will earn you MASSIVE points. There are people that have severall thousand points already, but haven't written much more then a blurb or two.
"As Hamz said, it's a problem we're trying to stop as much as we can. Don't worry, there are solutions on the way to help in situations such as these. Until then, please save your work, especially if it's lengthy. We want you to get credit for your work as much as you do.Cool, yah the wiki thing dose have that flaw =(
"
What I do is copy and then paste it into a message, and message it to myself. Therefore if you have lots of links, bullet points, bold/italics/underlines, images, links, etc, it doesn't all go to waste when pasting it in notepad..

Secondly, if you saved your work you can always re-edit the site later... or PM a mod about it.
Yeah there are tools on the way for mods that will fix things like this. Sorry it happened, back up your stuff next time.
"This is the problem with the whole 1000 point system, not everyone will take that added responsibility and learn to cope with it. Unfortunately you were the victim of someone who didn't know what they were doing, hopefully you have your article backed up.if the site could show to users that who's edited which part after whom, people'd have been more responsible editing someone's hard work.
"
and i'm sorry to hear about your editing p4ddmy.
its a good thing you guys are working on stuff like that
I was worried about people who have live edit who would completely erase everything that was there just to put up their own article
ideally there should be something in place to prvent something like that or at least a punishment of some kind like no points awarded or a suspension of live edit capabilites
I saw a moderator say that a rollback system was going to be placed soon. I suppose it's too late for the article you wrote because the system's probably not in place yet.
That's really a bummer, though. Sorry to hear all your work got lost. I recommend anyone writing wikis to save what they write on their own computers.
"its a good thing you guys are working on stuff like thatI trust the community enough about things like that. It is a difficult thing to put rules in for that dont create more problems.

Just opened Google Docs and seen that it had autosaved the work i had put into it. I dont think it is all there but most is. I guess i will just start merging some of the data of mine to the stuff that is already there.
