Clink clink duders. Bottoms up and pour one out for them that's not around anymore. Who knew it was possible to care so much about a web site? About video games?
During the last ten years I've released two EPs and one album, toured Europe twice, done two (thankfully short) stints in jail, OD'd, recovered, gotten clean, accepted help, moved town, found love, laid plans, lost love, stayed clean and kept keeping on.
Through all that I've never missed one single episode of the Bombcast or the Beastcast.
It sounds kinda melodramatic - but as I sit here ruminating on the past decade, nursing a non-alcoholic Erdinger and rewatching old videos - I can't help but think that having a dumb little podcast about dumb video games during the dark days might have played a small part in saving my life. And for that, I am forever grateful.
So pick your poison duders. Clink clink. And have Batman!
Phil Spencer seems like such a good dude. His combination of humor, humility and honesty makes these interviews second to none. I get the impression that he trusts this audience enough to throw aside the marketing mumbojumbo and just level with us, and for that I salute him.
