Is there any update with the readability issues for the forums and wiki involving the bright white text over black background? It's ultimately led to me almost never checking gb anymore (besides checking this very thread every couple weeks) I miss it.
I wouldn't say I have anxiety, but I can say I'm sure not ready to dish out more money for a brand new console. Just upgraded from a launch ps4 to a ps4 pro late last year, and on top of that I've got a pretty big backlog built up over the past two years. Not entirely sure I want something new. I have my pc anways, so sticking with that might be the way to go even if the exclusives look cool.
I just want to point out that the same issues with readability on the forums exist for the wiki and any written article too. Mainly the bright white text. (which has been the central problem for me, as I've expressed in the previous thread) In image 2, 3 and 4 you can see that the white text is all the same. Including the header text in image 1. The only difference here being the slightly darker box for the forums. Regardless, against any color this text is harsh to look at when there's more than a couple sentences. I thought I'd also include a comparison to something that's infinitely more accessible: the description for image 1 is a perfect example of text on the site being perfectly readable. I hope these other parts of the site are being considered for readability options. I've only seen @wemmick mention this in respect to the forums so far. Once again, I just want to express my thanks to the dev team for listening and working hard on remedying some of the concerns of the community. Keep it up ya'll!
Not sure if this helps, but Ni No Kuni (1) and Tales of Vesperia are two of maybe 3 or 4 jrpgs I've ever been locked in enough to finish. I would recommend it for sure.
The increased prevalence of open world design in modern games has led to them being more tedious and tiring for me. So, in some cases yes, but in others no. I prefer more linear experiences nowadays.
This is more of a request than a complaint: it'd be great if when making a list you could number it in a descending order. A lot of people end up making end of the year lists and it builds a little more suspense to start at say, number 10 at the top of the page instead of number 1. As it is now there's no way to edit a list in this way.
@theadmin: I apologize I've been away for a bit personally, but there have been several staff replies in this thread from myself and others. Most of the concerns being aired here are ones that have been brought up many times before and/or we acknowledged earlier in the thread, so we can't really keep addressing them. Many of the issues brought up are ones we are working on, but as we are butting up against the end of the year and folks won't be in the office over the holidays, we are holding off on releasing major changes.
Some of the major pain points we'll be focused on for 2019:
Homepage - condensed, more functional top promo, making carousels more efficient for frequent users
Episode page - fixing issues around click area, show notes, links to wiki pages, bylines, and more
Navigation - usability/efficiency issues, esp for wide screens
Skin: we are not currently planning a white version. Maintaining dark and light versions of the site is a real pain and frequently caused issues in the past, so we're trying to avoid it.
Accessibilty, esp font colors, sizes
Thanks for hanging in there with us, guys. I know there was a lot of change here, but we're trying to really make the corrections true improvements rather than making knee-jerk fixes that may break functionality/usability for other folks.
