Top Games of 2013

This is an active (obviously as I'm starting it mid 2013) list, I'll just chuck games in as I finish them and love them tenderly.

List items

  • I love getting completely immersed in the worlds that ubisoft build for the AC series. Although AC3 seemed to hurt itself with its storyline I disappeared in the new America's. The engine they built let me hunt for animals, buy and sell, search for urban legends and made Kenway into a brutal, relentless and powerful killer. For me, this is what made the game amazing. I'm looking forward to the next installment.

"all I can remember is bouncing through tree's, fighting massive groups of soldiers pulling off aggressive and fluent moves that made my hair on my arms pimple"

  • I searched every rubbish bin, every suitcase, every desk. And I loved it.

The storyline was spotless, every mission I took, every step of the way I was whole heartedly lost in the what was going on in this city above the world.

Its amazing how the world irrational games built can consume my every day thoughts.

Brilliant sound, shops, advertising, propaganda and characters.

"waking up on a beach, listening to amazing music, the npc's laughing and enjoying their time in the sand. Completely immersed"

  • The reboot of a franchise that I must admit that I didn't really play much of.

Lara's progression from a frail to deadly killer is fast, but effective. She bounces back from the baddest of breaks, the biggest of falls and just keeps coming.

Loved the exploration, the gun progression, the game could have done with some more puzzle work.

    But an excellent reboot.

  • Now I will have to say that I was out and out against Devil May Cry, it felt like a series that had got old in a fast and evolving gaming world.

Ninja theory have been pretty strong for me when it comes to making games, I really enjoyed their version of the Chinese journey to the west, 'Enslaved'. I wasn't completely sold on 'Heavenly Sword' and I didn't get to finished it.

To any case, a number of times my jaw dropped, I laughed and I enjoyed the grandeur. And definitely would recommend it on to anyone with black humor.

  • 80's sci fi movies, action movies and video games.

Addicted to collectibles, to discovery and first person shooters. Born in the 80's. This game was made for me.

Now I spent more time than I should have playing Far Cry 3, and with the different aesthetic, fantastic music and a somewhat lackluster story. Fabulous use of a larger games engine.

  • I have no words to describe this story that takes you inside the mind of a psychopath and makes you love him.
