Dwarves are like manly Hobbits that can wear shoes.

So recently I purchased the Special Edition of Lord of The Rings Online (LOTRO) for  $0.90. Yep, Less than a buck. After it arrived I quickly installed and began to patch....which took forever.

You can't beat 100%?! LOTRO begs to differ!

After 2 days of patching I was finally able to create a character. Helotais the Dwarf Minstrel (aka Bard).
 Oh well, guess the usual
Oh well, guess the usual "Helotais" will do.

After doing the tutorial mission I was on to the real game....Slaying rabbits and getting 10 furs then going to the quest giver for 10 copper. Fantastic. I could smell the MMO in it already. Anyways, as a bard- I mean minstrel I was able to play my magic lute to heal myself and kill mobs. At level 2 I was awarded a lute from my minstrel trainer "But I already have a lute" I said to myself, equipping it and getting a tutorial window saying if I type in "/music" I can play the lute as an instrument. Upon entering the command my dwarf pulls out his lute and I mash the 1-8 keys to strum notes. Marvelous! After fiddling around and making terrible music I looked online to see if there was music notes to certain songs. I started to play The Legend of Zelda's Skull kid theme and wondered to myself "Why hasn't this been implemented in WoW?". Anyways, after fiddling around with it and testing other instruments (Flutes, Horns, Bells, Drums, Clarinets) I got bored and logged off and have not had the urge to go back in even though I still have 28 days left of free game time. The whole experience made me want to go play WoW again even though LOTRO is going Free to Play in about 2 weeks.
 The Best part of LOTRO.

Cops and Robbers, but Bigger!

Recently, I got an invitation from Real-time worlds to play APB and participate in their Key to the City event. Reluctantly I started to download. My reluctance first came from the beta of the game and me not being able to play it due to graphics standards, but I thought "Eh what the heck, maybe they fixed it." And oh yes they did.

This game is amazing. First you choose on whether or not you want to be a Criminal or an Enforcer. I always liked being the good guys, so I chose Enforcer and it put me in the most incredible character customization I've ever seen in an MMO. Choosing gender, height, weight, facial details, moles, freckles, makeup, scars, facial hair, stubble. It's a lot to take in and you can easily spend 30+ minutes just making your character. Once made you go into a tutorial mode. The missions are set-up so that there's regular missions that earn you money and experience with that certain faction that you take the mission from (Praetorians, Prentiss Tigers) and there's "Back up" missions where you are basically called for support and join a group with someone who needs help on their missions. The missions are fast and simple and you never have to find a mission giver, they're all given to you on your radio. So you can be driving around and BOOM get a mission for back-up and choose whether or not you want to accept it, it's a new way to look at questing in a game and you never have to go out of your way to get into the action.

When playing as an Enforcer you get "Prestige" for doing good things (ie completing missions, not running over civilians) The prestige bar raises to 5 stars, kind of like GTA, but backwards. At 3 star prestige you are qualified as a "threat" to the criminals. This means that when you are doing missions an "All points bulletin" can be sent out on you. This basically means, "Hey you're gaining prestige and levels too easily, so we're sending actual criminal players to fuck you over and try to kill you when you're doing your missions." This is the part I love about the game because it gives you a unique challenge of trying to blow off the dudes trying to stop you and trying to get the mission done. APBs can go either way too so you can be a criminal and suddenly have an APB put out for you, but it would be enforcers after you.

The Criminals and Enforcers are pretty much the same, the only difference is that as a Criminal you can raid shops, and get items for money, mug civilians for money, and steal cars and put them in a lockup for money. On the other hand as an Enforcer, you are able to customize your character with a badge, use non-lethal weapons to stun criminals, and then arrest them (Which gives you a bigger bonus than killing them.)

The PVP is handled really well in this game and it's not what you'd think of when you see PVP. It's not like a PvP server in WoW where when you see a guy on the road you can just totally gank him. It's hard to explain and I've already probably lost your attention.

APB is the most fun I've had with a game in a long time and the most fun I've had with an MMO ever. I already pre-ordered it on Steam :D

Massive Influx of followers.

The dang quests.

So quest system was implemented on the site...unfortunately with these quests there came ones like "Make a blog" or "Create a thread in off0topic".

GOD DANGIT! Now there's a bunch of retards making threads like "I did this for quest lulz" or the less subtle more spamming ones such as "Green tea- Wtf"
I appreciate the time taken into making this questing system but why did they have to make a quest "Spam the boards."

I think I just completed a quest for typing this...

That's it you fools, this is a website about video games!

I'm sick and tired of all these threads that aren't about video games! (Yeah I'm contradicting myself)

Ok, so there are all these people posting these threads about how the community is what runs the site and is what's most important. Then there are all these retarded teenagers who think there's some civil war going on and they just want to be appreciated. WELL SCREW YOU GUYS!

I am one of those people who are sick of seeing all these threads! THIS IS A WEBSITE ABOUT VIDEO GAMES!

Sure there are still threads that are about video games and that's fine, but when you start having a pretend "Civil War" with the website and it's users...?
That's pathetic. If a user wants to leave the site that's their business, but they can't blame their own rage quittiness (Yep that's a word, trust me) on other people.
Or the whole community. Besides, who are these teenagers fighting anyways? Of course the mods don't give a shit, and they shouldn't.

Adding pictures to a blog makes it legit!

Then there are these threads about the community and how it's going down the tubes, or blogs that are relevant to them in a way that they think the site should be more focused on the community. While in fact I do think the community takes up a large portion of Giant Bomb and adds a whole lot to it, we still need to be reminded of whose website this is and what great content they put out everyday.

Anyways I'm done. I honestly just wanted to make a blog because I thought it would make me look cool because everyone else is making blogs about these things and I just wanted to be hip. I'm hip now, right?

This is a blog about L4D2 and the people who play it.

Hello, I am TheMustacheHero and today I will be talking about Left4Dead 2. Hurrr.

Recently, I have played Left4Dead 2 online and let me tell you something. It's a train wreck.

So me and my brother go into a match of versus in Dead Center, and I reluctantly get Rochelle (D:) Anyways, that's not the point.
We started off as infected, the other team rushed, we got blown out of the water. They all got in except for Ellis who got left for dead in a fire pit.
At the end of the round, my teammates who are some stupid teenagers who think they're hot shit wanted to RESTART THE ROUND SO THEY COULD PLAY INFECTED AGAIN! WHAT THE FUCK?! That's so stupid!

Anyways, after everyone voted no they started to rage and we started off our turn as survivors (This is the part where I'm Rochelle D:)
My stupid teammates rushed down the hall towards the elevator. My brother and I struggled to keep up because all the infected were killing us. As I got pounced by a hunter, my brother was getting taken for a ride by a jockey into some spitter goo. I said over the mic "Hey, could you turn around and shoot this hunter please?"

And you know what he said?

"No screw you, I don't like you" and they both jump out the window, insta-die and leave the game.

The community used to be good in the first one, but not anymore! I guess Valve's 4 million dollar ad campaign paid off for their wallets, but not the community! We just got sent a bunch of assholes while Valve gets sent another bag of money!

One last quick example: So today I played Versus on "The Parish" (Like it matters what level I was playing on right? :P) When this dude joins, and we're playing Infected. He's playing smoker, and dies and then goes "Get the guy in the white suit." (Which would be Nick) but seriously...

GET THE GUY IN THE WHITE SUIT?! WHAT THE FUCK?! YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW THE SURVIVORS NAMES?!
The only two reasonable explanations would be he's either new, or retarded. So I chose both and called him a retard and to go back and play the campaign before going into versus.

Protip: Play the campaign of a game before going into the versus modes. Or else I will leave you for dead.

Please, I'm begging you.

It's all about the little things...

Having only played the demo and the actual game for a day ( See here for explanation). I've got a limited opinion on the game, but have noticed some things that kind of shed some light on why the game was made in a year.

First thing I noticed in the game that was different: No legs. MY LEGS ARE GONE! I believe it was only in the PC version of L4D that had it, but in the first game you could look down and see your character's legs, like Halo 2 and 3. Now while you might not say that's necessarily a problem, but for a sequel having something like that taken out, it's just very disappointing.

Second thing is how many problems me and other people are having with installation issues and crashes to desktop.  Again, obviously not a problem for 360 players, but a big deal to me. Why would they release a game and not even have the installation issues fixed? Surely, they had installed the game on their own computers right?!

Last thing for now...AI. The AI was great in L4D they would help you up, strafe the tank, not startle the witch and actually pick up weapons and items when you wanted them to. With L4D2, well...they're just retarded. They can't do anything right! They choose melee weapons over any gun, leading to their deaths when trying to melee the tank and they don't pick up "better" weapons. They'd rather stick with their Silenced Uzis than pick up an AK-47. Lastly, they don't even pickup medkits. I was in a safe room and everyone had green health and a medkit, except for the one bot, Rochelle. There was an extra medkit and I press "Z" (AKA the "Look" command) so many times my Z key stopped working and that dang bot would not budge! In L4D, when you do that the bot comes running over to grab it!

Valve, I am disappoint.
