Problem solved, and I'll leave the result here in case anyone in the future needs it.

After some googling, it appears Bloodborne acts very weird if you play it before it's FULLY installed. I initially started as soon as the patch was downloaded, but this time I deleted the game entirely, put the disc back in, and left it alone for about an hour. Once it was completely installed, it started back up fine with no crazy disc accessing.

Seems to be unique to Bloodborne because I didn't have the same issue with Batman. So there it is, person from the future who is reading this. That's how you fix it.

It's this, right here, just a bit more rhythmic and not so random. This exact sound.

Title says it all. Finally decided to buy a PS4 to play some exclusives I can't get on PC, and I had to turn off Bloodborne after 30 minutes because of the NON STOP disc reading. I pressed the option button and it looks like the game is fully installed (28-ish GB), so I don't think it's still installing while I'm playing. Even if it was, though, I'd think the disc would be consistently spinning at speed, not up/down/up/down.

It's a high pitched motor spinning sound, not a crunch, grind, buzz or vibration. It's the same sound you hear when the disc first starts spinning up, like a far away dentist drill, but it never stops. Spin up for a second, spin down. Spin up, spin down. Wee! Oooh. Wee! Oooh. Wee! Oooh.

Is this normal?

I would love to see this too. Just picked up a PS4, and it's rough playing this game.

I do most of my gaming on PC at 60fps, and while a smooth 30 (like Arkham Knight) is still fine, the jittery pacing in Bloodborne makes it look like the screen is vibrating and running at 15-20fps. Ruins the immersion of an otherwise great looking game.

Aside from the confusingly worded question ("Do you think they don't have a place"?), I don't see anything wrong with it.

It's rare to see a religious person leaping up and preaching to the masses. More often it's someone making a nasty dig at religion out of nowhere, which prompts religious folks to go "Hey man...". A fight ensues, which almost always ends with "See? Friggin religious wackos!"

@toxeia:

The bootlegger app converts it back to the '98 PC version, which just strips off the DRM and cloud saves. Now you can save locally AND install fan made updated art and music.

I bought the Steam re-release, then dragged the folder out of the Steam directory and modded the hell out of it with bootlegger and Qhimm forum mods.

Remastered music, normally proportioned characters on the field map, hi-res backgrounds, fixed translation... Yeah, it's pretty great. If you have an itch to replay this (or do so for the first time), just do what I did and I guarantee you won't want a full remake anymore. The mods remove enough of the ugliness (like weird chibi characters that break immersion and pixelated backgrounds) to make the game enjoyable even without the rose tinted glasses.

It took a while, but PS3 overcame a high price to end up virtually tying the 360 this generation. How'd they do it? Games.

If MS brings the good games, a $100 difference isn't going to stop people, especially those who see a value in having voice and gesture controls with the Kinect.

Seems like amazing material for Vinny and a QL.
